the rooms themselves looked nice but the shower always gave freezing water regardless of the temperature meter i set it at. we asked twice for help to come check it out and both times they said ‘we will send someone’ but no one came to check. i forced myself to take a freezing cold shower and it was not a good experience. i ended the next morning with a slight ear infection and a painful headache. that is where the last problem comes, breakfast. with my already tired and pained self i go for some breakfast, the attendants were nice and sent me to a table. what they failed to do was to remember that the table they sent us to was already pre booked. this ended up happening twice. sent to 2 pre-booked tables and ended up having to wait an extra 30 mins. i’m ok with waiting but not waiting when my tables i was meant to be eating at were taken before i could even even. wish it was a better experience but it was very far from good. overall it is a 3/10 for me.

We stayed at premier Inn Cardiff North for 2 nights with our 2 young kids for the monster jam event at the principality stadium, the location was good as it had a few local amenities surrounding it such as a Greggs, dominos, car charging 0.2 miles up the road and was very quiet considering it backs onto a really busy road, the hotel was only a 15 minute drive away from the city centre and getting an Uber from there was trouble free and easy.
The hotel has been refurbished throughout and looks very modern and clean, the rooms have also been refurbished and are a massive improvement over the old premier inn style rooms, the beds were comfortable with plenty of charging points around the room and nice purple ambient lighting to help you relax after a long day, the room had a few marks on the walls and a slight bit of mold on the shower screens silicone beading but apart from that the room was perfect for our short stay.
We used the restaurant for breakfast and dinner as we took out the meal plan as it was great value for money, our evening meals both nights were lovely and the food was very tasty and piping hot, the breakfast though was a massive disappointment as the kitchen continually kept running out of food and most of the hot buffet was warm at best and not the best of quality , continental breakfast was fine and the cappuccinos were very good for a quick serve machine.
All the staff were friendly and very helpful apart from 1 girl who was miserable but I could see why as it seemed no one had a dedicated job and instead all the staff were running around trying to please everyone doing every job from front of house to working behind the bar and then serving in the restaurant, way too much stress for the staff in my opinion and premier inn should definitely have dedicated staff for each area to take the load off them and allow each staff member to focus on the job in hand as this was causing slow service sometimes and is a shame as the staff were working very hard they were just being pushed to hard with not enough staff to cover everything.
Overall the hotel is good value for money and I would stay here again but it just needs a few of the points I have commented on to be addressed and this will be an excellent hotel to stay at.
My wife and I had a meal around 9PM on the 16th of may and i was served by a young lady named Emily, she was very kind and greeted us so professionally, she was welcoming and a good laugh when taking orders and giving food. She met all of our requirements very fast (as in sauces etc) checked on us mid meal to make sure everything was okay with the food, she had even noticed when i had finished my drink and asked if i wanted another which i though was excellent of her.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere to stay around the area and grab a bite for food while they're at it.
Overall very good service from our waitress, the food was outstanding and the place is very clean and looked after.
Best Premier Inn, super friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend it. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Went for dinner with my partners family who had come down to visit us and were staying at the hotel. When we arrived, I informed the gentleman who handled our reservation i had an egg allergy and am vegetarian, we went to our table with an allergen folder brought over for me to view at my leisure. Before I had any chance to speak with her, our server (Emily) had already been made aware by this gentleman and she took pains to make sure i felt safe and comfortable in how she was handling my allergy. She was calm, friendly and maintained a professional elegance that added value to the service as a whole and elevated the dining experience. We came at a busy dinnertime service, but despite items being out of stock this almost became a non issue, and i noticed no one else seated nearby minded this or the wait for food some experienced, due to how smoothly she handled these issues.
I would 100% eat there again, and look forward to doing so, and hope she is recognised as the absolute credit to the hotel that she is.
