Friendly check-in and good info about breakfast which isn't offered by Premier Inn anymore. Restaurant next door will sort you out but this is not linked to the hotel. Location is great for exploring the western Lake District and the price was very reasonable for a family room at relatively short notice. £52. Only issue was the room itself. It was a usual family room however there was a smell when we walked in which did linger all night. We were only there one night and were tired and wet after a journey in the worst rain ever, and to be honest, the same smell was in the corridor so I wasn't sure what the staff would be able to do to rectify. As a result, we didn't report it. In the end, a family room for £52 is decent but we probably should have said something about the smell. Live and learn.

Filthy and a dump. Avoid. Staff were rude. No food available in on site restaurant.

The rooms are comfortable and warm. Plenty of hot water. No air conditioning. Rooms are not serviced unless you ask for it at reception before noon. Also make sure you register your car at reception to avoid getting a £60 fine - receptionists sometimes forget to mention it. No fridge in room. WiFi is a bit feeble and frequently drops. There’s not much nearby other than what used to be a brewer’s fayre - but you can drive into Whitehaven for a Tesco extra or Wetherspoons.

Great staff and breakfast. The shower wasn't great and the room could use an armchair, maybe , full fat coffee.

A comfortable hotel, staff were great, good breakfast served in the restaurant next door. Only negative is the WiFi, paid extra for the upgraded WiFi and was still painfully slow.
