Booked a family room. This is how the beds are made. No room service. The buffet was cold. No hot milk provided. Food is prepared only if requested. The worst premier inn I've ever stayed. The pastries were kind of cold. Disappointed with the food. No elevator.

Tracey has been fantastic. From complications with booking to ensuring my stay was comfortable she has been fantastic! Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable! Tracey you made my stay! Thank you.

Great base for exploring Carlisle, the borders and for a rail day trip to Edinburgh. As others have said, accommodation could do with a refresh but service from Tracey and the team, and location are spot on, with a good (and very popular, booking is recommended) pub next door.

Room was actually really nice except for the bath having weird stains all over it. Bed was almost too soft which made for a weird sleep but generally was OK. We had an accessibility room. Receptionist when we checked in on Saturday looked like she was bored rigid and hated humans. Food was okish in the restaurant but not the best for a Premier Inn. Certainly had much better ones. Weird that we had to give a specific time for breakfast, never had to do this before. The man serving breakfast clearly had an issue with a guest (who looked very shocked as did his wife and young daughter) and could be heard shouting, then proceeded to take their order whilst speaking to them very harshly because he couldn't understand their accent straight away. I felt so bad for the young daughter and the mother who began stuttering whilst trying to order. Made breakfast very uncomfortable and we felt very unwelcome. He didn't look happy the whole time we were in there and clearly doesn't like his job. The woman who was serving was a delight, very pleasant and seemed to be doing the majority of the work.Think the man could use some serious customer service lessons or at least pretend he's happy to be in a customer facing role.

Beds were comfortable and bedding and towels appeared to be clean, but oh my word the hotel itself was discussing! The decor needs a serious update, it was dirty with brown around the taps and bath, it was also very old fashioned. There was spiders webs on the shower head and ceilings and to be honest I think Premier Inn should pay people to stay there not the other way round!! We have stayed at many Premier Inns over the years and this is honestly up there with the worst. Yes Premier Inns is a budget hotel but they used to be clean and comfortable, you can’t say that anymore unless you are lucky enough to be at a new or updated hotel. These hotels should be closed down immediately, because I honestly think they are a health risk…sorry…not sorry.
