  Well look after by very friendly staff . Right on the the docks which was great for a wander round , quiet and picturesque. Handy free parking , really good food and a gym . Staff at breakfast were super helpful: Sharon Holmes , kat , Piara & Anna Lise . Also didn’t get the Jane’s but the evening staff were also very friendly and helpful. Well recommended.

  Isolated area that is quiet and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and clean.

  We stayed for two nights in August 2026. The stay was booked through booming.com. As soon as the booking was confirmed I received a message from the hotel informing me of scaffolding on the outside of the hotel. We must have been luckey as no one was actually working on the scaffolding during our stay. It does spoil any view you might have of the canal. The receptionist upon arrival was very friendly and offered plenty of advice about the local area and amenities. Our room was 120 on the first floor. As soon as we walked in to our room even with the windows closed we could hear noisy fans. Open the windows and it was obviously even noisier and a cooked fatty smell drifted in. Room 120 is over the kitchen extractor fans. Fortunately we managed to change to room 107 which is at the front of the hotel. A slightly smaller room. More importantly it was quiet. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was due to the pool and sauna. You need a £1.00 coin for the pool lockers. No point as they didn't have and keys in them. The receptionist didn't have a clue what to do. She just apologised. The sauna is too small. Two, maximum three people could squeeze in and it didn't look very clean. Needless to say we never used these facilities during our stay. On a positive note the breakfast was excellent as were the staff working in the dining area. Likewise great service from the house keeping staff.

  Christine on reception was friendly, helpful and caring. We had to rearrange due to our son being ill. As soon as we checked in she asked if he was ok. She is a perfect example of excellent customer service. Thank you.

  We had a wonderful first stay at Holiday Inn and were very satisfied with our experience. We would especially like to thank Christine at Reception for her excellent service. We know that guests in UK hotels are expected to bring their own toothbrushes, but we simply forgot ours. Christine kindly provided some for us. We also asked for some ice to keep our food cold, but instead of simply giving us ice, she suggested a much better solution by storing our food safely for us. We really appreciated her kindness, thoughtfulness, and flexibility. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would happily recommend Holiday Inn to others.
