  Stayed here for the Chester marathon and definitely the best location a short stroll from the start line andca bearable crawl back! Plenty parking in site too and although there's no restaurant apart from for breakfast and the bar, the high street is minutes away and offers plenty dining options.

  Usable but basic and not very clean. Heater was broken, which other people also said, no air con, dirty bathroom.

  Stayed for a night and room was as to be expected. There were stains on the desk next to the bed and bathroom was cleaned in a sloppy way. Blanket cover smelled fresh but a had a large yellow stain. Maybe time to replace it. For the price paid it would be 4 star. I lost my bank card and it could have happened everywhere so I started with the hotel or so I thought.Only the 5th person was able to check after spending 30 Min on the call from abroad. It got to the point that one person asked me for my IHG membership at the start of the conversation... If I lost it somewhere else, fine. But speaking to 5 people to get a simple answer.

  Person at reception had a horrible attitude when we checked in, got a twin room asked about a double bed but we booked with Expedia its not their problem its terms and conditions. I can understand team of conditions but her attitude from the beginning was off, maybe cause we are brown skinned who knows cause honestly she served the guy ahead of us with no issues smilling but the moment we stepped forward her attitude was off the charts. Its a shame cause u dnt expect a lot from Holiday inn but the attitude and reception was horrible, we have 4 nights here I just hope it gets somewhat better. Bathroom has mould, got a connecting room so can hear next door clearly. The dust and spider webs just added to the issues on that night. The night staff were very helpful and changed our room and thank God this one was clean, the general manager the next day was able to resolve the issues which was reassuring. The rest of the stay was good and the staff were friendly. Just grateful for the turn around and the staff who worked each day and night after were very helpful and even helped with local activities. The hotel needs a series of deep cleans, even if it’s one floor each 2 months to help maintain cleanliness, you can tell everyday cleaning areas are well maintained, there are no odours just the hidden areas which have accumulated dust and spider webs and curtains that need washing.
