Absolutely terrible, my family booked a premium room as part of a promotion for being a member, alongside a standard room, paying for the standard room with breakfast as to premium room without breakfast, with both being the same price. When they requested my parents to pay £120+ for 3 adult for the premium room breakfast, we requested to get the standard room like the other room we paid for with breakfast for the same price BUT NOOO they had to pay for breakfast anyway and the only thing that would happen is our room being downgraded, same price no difference just a downgrade. The day duty staff handled the situation horribly and welcomed us very unprofessional and I would rate it poorely. After agreeing to pay breakfast later and we came into the room, realised that the room sizes are same and facilities are same exept for the coffee machine and a bath robe that is useless for the summer heat, we did get complementary food, 2 crisp packets, 2 kit kats, and 2 cans of pop, there are 4 of us....The photos I have are attatched are of the standard and premium room, can you guess which one is premium...no, because beds are same, same space, and only difference is small bathtub I can't fit in, mini coffee machine and the useless bathrobes that i mentioned earlier, nothing premium about it honestly AND i thought i could look forward for the coffee machine but noo! Even the coffee machine is slow giving me drops of coffee rather than pouring coffee. We only realised the gimmik of the rooms because we booked standard and premium, for those who haven't booked both and only booked the premium room from the promotion you will get trapped by the promotion you will end up paying premium prices for a standard room with a coffee machine and useless bathrobes in the summer, be vigilant, and personally i wouldnt recommend this hotel there's probably nothing you're gonna enjoy, unless you like drama.
Rooms rather tired and in need of some updating or refurbishment. Dining room staff attentive, professional and pleasant. Food reasonable with a good range at breakfast.
Car park, although fairly extensive, had few spaces on returning to hotel in the evening.
Room was clean, bed comfortable, nice coffee, tea, and water in the fridge.
The place has been redecorated but not renovated so appeared pretty well kept but some things shabby and not working, our shower screen was broken.
Main issue was the pool. It was filthy and unusable. Got in with my kids and lasted a few minutes, water had the appearance of a thin consume soup but with more bits. Very gross. The River Dee looks cleaner and more hygienic, advise a swim there.

Room was disgusting 402 and 407 are numbers that will never leave us.We went to the restaurant at 8:00 p.m.some of the food arrived at 915pm two pizzas were still dough.
Fish was burnt, chips were cold. The starter was all batter no chicken. We were advised as a solution that there was a petrol station nearby where we could buy some sandwiches from...failing that call deliveroo. We haven't even slept here yet and we are frightened. IHG can offer us a room in Liverpool!
Someone came in with pot noodles! He was Scottish.. It's like camping but costs more.
Mark the server was on the ball . The kitchen staff need sacking.
The food that was replaced was difficult to trust as whoever ever sent the first order out of the hatch was incompetent.
We saw people complaining and we spoke to them .
They came over and said it was horrendous.
Such a shame IHG. .Get a team in ASAP to save this place.
Promote Mark immediately.
He is taking bullets and incoming mortar fire and should not be..
I noticed two members behind the bar one male one female who did very little lot of chatting not a lot of working or assisting colleagues. The young person who appeared to be working with Mark did very little.
I would go as far as to say as bone Idle.
The manager needs to start creating a very serious work ethic. There is no commitment to get things done.
Keep away from here .... Unless you want a weekend Wokes Convention or Drama Queen Day out .. Come and be punished here.

Lovely weekend away with my daughters for my eldest’s football tournament in Saltney - which they won.
We had the bestest time — just me, my 12‑year‑old and 9‑year‑old — while hubby was working! The hotel was spotless, the rooms were well kept and the beds were genuinely comfortable. The bedding smelt fresh too, which is always a win!
We had an evening meal during our stay and the food was amazing. Yes, a little pricey, but the quality absolutely matched the cost. The girls had fish and chips and I went for the steak and chips — all delicious.
Josie on Reception was incredibly helpful and made our stay feel so welcoming. Thank you, Josie — you’re doing a remarkable job.
The wellbeing facilities were brilliant too.The girls were only allowed in the pool, which worked out perfectly because it meant I could enjoy the jacuzzi in peace. The swimming pool area was clean, relaxing and just what we needed after a long day at the football tournament. The sauna was great as well — a proper little wellbeing boost.
The showers in the leisure area were powerful and spotless, making it easy to get ready afterwards. The car park was accessible and convenient, which made the whole stay stress‑free from start to finish.
Breakfast was delicious. The location was great, close to all the motorways and we popped into Chester town centre for food. Cheshire Oaks was only a 15‑minute drive and definitely worth the visit. On our way back to Birmingham we went to the Trafford Centre for some more shopping and food!
A two nights stay which was lovely overall and a perfect base for a football‑filled weekend with my girls. Would definitely book again!
