Pleasant stay in a good location close to the town with lots of dinner options.
Spacious rooms with a nice view. Nice outdoor section via the bar.
Great hotel, breakfast was amazing . Pool area was small but added to the night away.

Mixed experience – Great location, but the rooms need an upgrade
I stayed in room 323 and have mixed feelings about my stay.
The Good:
Location & Staff: The hotel is in an excellent location, and everything in Chester is within easy walking distance. Also, the staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout my stay.
Sleep Quality: The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and I slept great.
Breakfast: The breakfast was very delicious, though it could offer a bit more variety.
The Room & Bathroom (Room 323):
Unfortunately, the room itself did not live up to expectations. The interior feels outdated and is partly worn down or broken. When I arrived, there were still two empty beer cans left in the room, and the minibar only contained three bottles of water. Furthermore, the window was screwed shut and couldn't be opened at all, meaning there was no way to get any fresh air into the room.
The bathroom had a few issues as well. The water pressure in the shower was way too low. There was no toilet brush provided (why is that?), and the only outlet in the bathroom is for shavers, meaning you unfortunately cannot plug in a hairdryer there.
An extra note:
It would be nice to have some seating options at the designated smoking area on the parking deck.
Conclusion:
Overall, I don't think the hotel justifies a 4-star standard in its current state, and it is simply too expensive for what it offers.

GREAT LOCATION - GREAT STAFF
Just had a weekend away at the Crowne Plaza Chester , great location for the races.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, young blonde lass called Ellie I think , and the Scottish lass who was on reception with her , were extremely helpful and professional..
Hotel rooms and corridors are getting a bit tired , especially for what they charge , ready for a refurbishment
This hotel is dated, and tired. It is an extremely well 'used' hotel and it shows, it isn't as good as some Premier Inn's in that regard.
The air conditioning in room was noisy, as if it hadn't been serviced in years, the shower head was broken, and wouldn't stay upright - we also had a period, during heavy rain outside if an awful smell coming through the sink and plug hole.
So as long as you know what to expect, and what you'll get, it is 'ok'. At £165 per night, including club lounge access, and breakfast it simply isn't worth it.
I expect that if corporate customers weren't propping up the occupation figures, it would struggle without making some effort.
That all said - the service and staff were excellent. Friendly and Helpful, and were able to correct a mistake made by central reseverations without any trouble (almost as if they were used to it).
Breakfast was good, and the hotels location is excellent. The car park across the road is better to use, and easier to access than the small offering the hotel has, so, worth avoiding the hotels car park completley.
We will probably stay again, but, only if a deal rate is available. My honest opinion, £65 to £85 per night is about the correct rate to feel like you've had a good deal.
