  Stayed for the evening myself and husband, we have stayed a number of times and thought the hotel was lovely. This time it was made extra special by the 2 young ladies on the reception desk, Ellie and Funso. They asked us were we celebrating anything and I informed them it was our 31st Wedding Anniversary, after arriving at our room they brought up two glasses of fizz, a box of chocolates and a lovely hand written card, just that small gesture made our day. Thank you so much ladies you are a credit to the hotel xxx

  Reception was good. Helped by Sean. Room was huge with a massive bed! The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was plentiful, hot and good. Hotel is very central to the city. So easy to walk into the sights and race course. A little whinge. All I'll say is it's a small car park, you'll see! Plenty of other parking about though. Thank you.

  4 nights 1k usd. 1. Mold in the bathroom (granddaughter is asthmatic.) 2. Safe pre-locked 3. Closet doors non functional 4. Hair in the tub 5. Curtains not attached 6. Pealing wall paper. Offered an upgrade that didn't happen. Did get room switched, third day no room servicing. Offered small points at IGH.com that is not enough to get a room anywhere but lograde budget hotel. This is what happens when no one steps up to do the right thing. We would not come back. What a way to ruin a family holiday. What a Cock Up

  I don’t care about location, room or service. At the most basic level, this hotel fails in food safety standards. We stayed for one night between Saturday and Sunday and had a celebratory dinner at the hotel’s Stables restaurant on Saturday evening. My wife was ill throughout Sunday and Monday. The restaurant served my wife a half frozen and partially thawed burrata. Burrata, mozzarella and soft cheeses should never be frozen because the thawing process exposes it to huge risks of contamination as happened last Saturday. Not to mention that the freezing process destroys the cheese from the inside and ruins its flavour and texture. To add insult to injury the server told us that all the other burratas at the restaurant are stored frozen. Future contamination waiting to happen. I would expect the Head Chef at the Crowne Plaza to be aware of food safety standards and HACCP regulations. He either didn’t know or he just didn’t care.

  My wife and I stayed five nights in mid-July, and we thoroughly enjoy our stay. The rooms are clean, the hotel staff is extremely friendly and efficient, and the location couldn’t be better. You’re basically, a five minute walk to anywhere, but the hotel itself is very quiet, so sleeping is pleasant. The hotel has a nice workout area, pool and hot tub. Though the hours are rather strange. The restaurant and bar are alright. However, based on what Chester has to offer, they pale in comparison. We would highly recommend a stay at the Crown Plaza when visiting Chester.
