We were let down on accommodation and had to quickly find an alternative. Thankfully The Copthorne Hotel had space and they could not have been more helpful. From the front desk to breakfast team (thanks Joy!) they have been exceptional. The parking allowance for our booking even meant we could leave our car in the car park while we went to Windsor Castle and back. The service has been excellent and we’d definitely revisit. Thanks again

Unfortunately the room I stayed in had no working shower fitting on the bath tap, this was resolved by being moved to another room but in there the ironing board was sufficiently damaged that its welded frame broke while I was using it - thankfully no injuries but there needs to be much better attention to ensuring room and appliances are fit for purpose.

Stayed here for 1 night as we went to Legoland and the hotel was reasonably priced and a short drive away. We were pleased with our stay, all staff were professional, the room was clean and spacious and breakfast in the morning was as youd expect - cooked food such as sausages, eggs, hash browns etc and all was okay except the scrambled eggs which were very lumpy and tasted awful.
Overall the stay was pleasant!

We recently stayed for 3 nights to visit Legoland. The hotel is excellently placed for this, an easy 10 min drive. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, and the air conditioning was a god send in this heatwave. All the staff, from reception to waiting staff were very polite and friendly. Joy, in the hotel restaurant, is particularly friendly and helpful, greeting us each morning with a smile and made our son's stay special by chatting with him and bringing him pancakes and juice to the table which made his day :) Car parking was reasonably priced and we never struggled to find a space. The hotel is a little dated in places, but overall still very pleasing and good value. The bedroom had everything we needed and was quiet. Unfortunately the pool area was out of action but we hope to visit again when it isn't. I would recommend this hotel for families visiting the local area.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this has genuinely been one of the most frustrating and disappointing customer service experiences I have ever encountered.
My family and I booked this hotel specifically because it advertised a swimming pool and sauna. These facilities were a major factor in our decision to book. After paying in full and receiving confirmation of our reservation, we were informed that both the swimming pool and sauna would be unavailable during our stay.
This was extremely disappointing, but despite feeling misled, we decided to proceed with the booking.
Shortly afterwards, our eight-year-old son suffered a serious accident and broke his arm in two places. Following medical advice, we were informed that he would be unable to travel for several months. As soon as we knew this, we requested what I believed was a very reasonable solution: simply moving our booking to a later date.
What followed was days of being passed from one department to another with nobody taking responsibility.
Hotels.com told me to contact the hotel. The hotel told me to contact Hotels.com. Hotels.com emailed the hotel manager multiple times and received no response. Hotels.com then attempted to call the hotel directly and reportedly received no answer. I contacted the front desk repeatedly and was told the manager would deal with it, yet nothing happened. I even requested to speak directly with the manager but was never given that opportunity.
Throughout this entire process, nobody appeared willing to take ownership of the situation or provide any meaningful assistance.
What makes this even worse is the complete lack of empathy shown towards our circumstances. We explained that our son had suffered a serious injury and offered to provide hospital documentation and X-rays as evidence. None of this seemed to matter.
What should have been a simple booking amendment has instead become an exhausting battle that has caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult time for our family.
Even now, after numerous phone calls, emails, promises of responses, and repeated attempts by both ourselves and Hotels.com to resolve the issue, we still have not been able to move our booking.
At this point, the hotel appears perfectly willing to keep our money while offering no practical solution whatsoever.
As a family, this is not a small amount of money that we can simply afford to lose. We are already dealing with the emotional and financial consequences of our son's accident, yet the hotel seems completely indifferent to the fact that their refusal to engage could leave us significantly out of pocket for a stay we are medically unable to take.
The message this experience sends is deeply concerning. Facilities that influenced our booking decision became unavailable after payment was taken. Multiple requests from both the customer and booking agent appear to have gone unanswered. Management was inaccessible. Communication was virtually non-existent. Compassion was nowhere to be found.
A hotel's true character is revealed when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this hotel has demonstrated poor communication, poor customer service, a complete lack of accountability, and an alarming absence of empathy.
Based on our experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering booking here to think carefully, particularly if customer care, flexibility, or responsive management are important to you.
Without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered.
