Stayed here overnight as a stopover while travelling north from London. The location is ideal for the M1, with ample parking, although Google Maps took us an unnecessary 10-minute detour as it wasn’t clear that the hotel could be accessed directly via the adjacent Welcome Break. Unfortunately, the hotel itself was very disappointing. The carpets are well beyond their useful life and in very poor condition. An unpleasant smell greeted us as soon as we entered the room. Bathroom cleaning appeared superficial, with wall tiles showing signs of mould/fungal growth. The taps were outdated and the extractor fan wasn’t working. Most frustratingly, our booking clearly stated free parking, yet we were charged for parking at check-in despite having already paid online for a non-refundable stay. The convenient M1 location is probably its strongest point, but the cleanliness, maintenance and unexpected parking charge let it down badly. I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t book here again.

Only just checked in and got into the room, it is absolutely awful. Nothing has been wiped in about a year, but it actually looks like they put a hoover through here at some point. The rest is just dusty, mouldy, and stinks.

There were a couple of positives to our stay. The woman on the front desk was very friendly and helpful, the location was decent, and our family room had three beds which was useful. Breakfast was okay too. Unfortunately, the negatives massively outweighed the positives. Firstly, you have to pay extra for parking, which was disappointing. There was also an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel. There is no lift, which meant we had to carry our buggy up the stairs. This was inconvenient for us, but I’m not sure how someone with limited mobility would manage. The room itself was extremely humid as there was no air conditioning, and cleanliness was a major issue. We found a spider in the room, fingernail clippings on the windowsill, hairs on the bed, stains on the bathroom wall and a generally dirty carpet. There was also only one towel provided for a family of four. To top it off, I ordered a pint from the bar and there was unidentified debris floating at the bottom of the glass. Overall, the hotel felt poorly maintained and nowhere near clean enough. While the staff member we dealt with was lovely and breakfast was okay, there were simply too many problems with the stay. I definitely wouldn’t stay here again and couldn’t recommend it.

Wear do I start I don't normally complain the fan was broken and rusty you couldn't turn it down so it was on the fastest speed We had one light that work in the room the switches didn't work when you put you card it to the reader so everything works in the room the fuse box would make a load bang if you had a bad heart god no's what would happen The toilet wouldn't flush properly or it would flush on it's own The shower would trickle out water The breakfast was poor the orange juice didn't taste like orange juice o and to put the orange juice in something was a burger king cup All the lining and towels was out side up the far end of the car park and when we was booking it said nothing about paying for parking we found out when we got there 5 pound a night There was no point in complaining as I over heard someone complaining and got no wear

I'm currently staying at the Ramada tonight. The rooms are absolutely disgusting. I don't mind budget hotels. But fir £130 per night its shocking. Want to leave but cant as had a drink. No other rooms available. Loads of dirt on walls in bathrooms looks like the contents of someone's nose. Black mold on ceilings, around shower and thick scum and mold inside the sink and under the rim. Like a toilet in a park. I am absolutely furious and want my money back. Its totally out of order. The curtains are torn, dirty and the windows have mold in the corners. What is going on at this hotel ? Please don't waste you money and come here. If I of check the other reviews I definitely would not come. I pictures and video evidence. Totally unacceptable and no excuse. The room isn't fit to be offered to use. Plus have the cheek to ask to pay for parking on top of the £400 I've paid. I am fuming is an understatement. I want to speak with the manager but not back till tomorrow. I will upload all the pictures in the morning.
