Very disappointing experience.
When I arrived, I was refused check-in because I didn't have the payment card with me. This should have been explained when the hotel took my card details over the phone. I was then threatened with having my reservation cancelled, which was completely unnecessary.
The main reason I booked was to use the spa for my girlfriend's birthday. When I asked about it, staff told me it was closed. I later found out this wasn't true. They said it closed at 9pm, but it was actually open until 10pm. Because of this incorrect information, I never got to use the spa.
I was also very concerned to find my personal details, including my phone number, email address, and home address, left out where other people could see them. This is highly unprofessional and raises serious data protection concerns.
When I raised these issues with management, nothing was offered to resolve the situation.
Overall, a very frustrating experience and not one I would recommend.Mohan was the name of the staff who left my details out , gave me incorrect information, and threatened to cancel my room for no valid reason.
I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza Marlow for a night with some friends and we had an amazing time. On arrival, checkin was quick, smooth and very friendly. We found the staff to be very nice and friendly from the front desk team to the team in the restaurant and then at the spa.
The hotel has some nice calming views and great for a relaxing time away. We found the indian food at the restaurant to be lovely. Curries were cooked to perfection, we requested for the spicy version and were not disappointed.
Rooms were clean and spacious
All in all, we had a lovely time here and i would definitely visit again
Happy with my stay! Spacious and clean room, and great facilities (although I didn't use them). Loved being by the river, and the venue and space was great for the event.
Service was quite hit or miss, not what I expect, but really great service from the south asian man at the restaurant/bar
Very welcoming from the moment we walked in. All staff very friendly. Our room was spacious, modern and spotless. The spa was lovely and relaxing. If the weather was nicer we could have sat on the lovely lawn by the river on the grounds. Spoilt for choice for breakfast offered everything you could think of. Was a nice 15 minute walk into Marlow. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend and will definitely return. Thank you Crowne Plaza Marlow. 😊
Please read the previous reviews before booking this hotel during an event. The whole place just felt disorganised and nobody seemed to care. Reception staff when present was constantly on their phone with people just wandering into event spaces with no security or awareness from staff.
Everything felt like money over service. At check in what should’ve been a smooth process from requesting a travel cot ahead of travel was an issue. After waiting around and asking for delivery of this (and confusion about whether a charge would be incurred) eventually we were attended to and this was sorted. Then the parking situation which while we did not get fined as we stayed overnight and had rooms, I know others did - they talk about clear signage on their reviews but with over 50 people arriving at the same time and lack of presence at the front desk the lack of foresight to mitigate issues is telling. In the morning, breakfast was a mess and they did not seem to agree that trying to charge a 13 month old barely on solids for a £20 breakfast was ridiculous.
This is not all negative and maybe it is different for same day events or overnight stays. My room was not cleaned properly and after no help from the front desk staff, I spoke to a cleaner in the corridor who came immediately and did a good job. The air con was also good on a hot day which is another bonus.
