Stayed in this hotel for one night on the 7th floor. The room was up to Premier Inn standards, and we had no complaints regarding cleanliness or the room itself. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The only issue we had is that if you want to store your bags for a few hours, you are required to make a charity donation—it is not optional. IMO, paying for storage is fine, but since when did a mandatory service fee get labeled as a "charity donation"? We didn't argue and paid it, but we witnessed another guest express their disappointment, only to be told the same thing.

Good location, close to the train & coach station and the city centre. Most staff were very friendly and helpful - check in and restaurant (breakfast). Quiet despite the location. Will recommend.

I had a disappointing experience when trying to check in just 10 minutes early. I completely understand if early check-in wasn’t possible, and the timing itself wasn’t the issue. However, the way the situation was handled felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional.
The female manager I dealt with, who had red hair, responded in a very short and hostile manner. Inappropriate language was used during the conversation, and what could have been a simple, polite explanation quickly became unnecessarily heated.
A calmer and more respectful approach would have made a big difference to the customer experience.

Ups and downs with our stay:
Car park - no onsite parking, and coming late isn’t nice to have to walk with family from car park ( which smelt of urine).
Hotel- all staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating - cannot fault ❤️
Room- nice, clean and spacious
Hallway -no kids running up and down/people talking loudly.
Bathroom- SUPER clean, shame toilet tissue dispenser was empty and toilet rolls were placed behind toilet.
Breakfast- restaurant was smart, staff very friendly, but the breakfast was REAL LET DOWN.
Ordered vegan sausages and poached eggs. Waited a few minutes before starting to plate up other hot food. When we went to the hot food, we saw another family mixing up all the tongs to serve meat and non- meat items! I told the lady who served us and she promptly ensured new tongs were provided. Sadly, some families are just disgusting and that isn’t the fault of the hotel. But perhaps use different coloured tongs( green for veggie/vegan) as a visual reminder to people?
I plated up my hot food and was waiting for the sausages and eggs. Clearly the order had been forgotten and I had to ask again and hover around on and off. By the time the sausages had come , it had been over 20 minutes since I’d plated up my hot food, which by then had become cold. The look of the vegan sausages and poached eggs was awful. Sausages literally looked raw and the eggs were snotty and watery. I don’t like to waste food so I ate a cold breakfast with horrible sausages, so bad that I ended up chucking 1 of the sausages and 1of the eggs. The look of them was making me feel sick. On my way out, I saw other vegan sausages had been made for other people and theirs were cooked properly as they actually had colour on them. I have always ordered sausages from other Premier Inns and never had such awful food produced. First time I’ve not enjoyed Premier Inn breakfast. Definitely not up to standard. Maybe have more staff as only one woman was taking orders. No-one was cleaning and re-laying tables, had to do that ourselves.

A very good stay overall and easily one of the better Premier Inns I’ve used. The hotel feels modern throughout, with clean contemporary decor and surprisingly spacious rooms. The room itself was very quiet, the air conditioning actually worked properly, the shower was reliable with good pressure, and the bed was large and comfortable. The location is also excellent for shopping and city centre attractions, with the Bullring only a short walk away.
There are a few drawbacks though. The biggest issue is the lack of on-site parking. The nearest available parking is chargeable and around a 10-minute walk away along a fairly dark and desolate dual carriageway, which didn’t feel especially pleasant late at night. Also not ideal after a long drive. The immediate surrounding area of the hotel also felt a bit rough in places, and my room looked directly onto a rather depressing derelict brutalist office block. Also, as with most Premier Inns, the duvet was far too thick and warm for my liking. Despite those issues, still a solid 4-star stay.
