BEWARE BEDBUGS IN THE CHILDRENS BEDS. A short stay over with some big problems, im disabled my partner has cancer and is on chemotherapy, my son has special needs, A short 2 night stay turned into a being transfered twice so we ended up in 3 rooms for 2 nights. BED BUG off all sizes big and small, first time we realised this my son said he was being bitten and things were crawling on him this was at midnight so we were all up putting the lights on and their were bed bugs in the beds especially the spare child's bed, I phoned reception and I only said 'we have bugs in the room' and he moved us at midnight into another room ( they knew about the bugs he asked no questions ) we had to pack everything up carry without help to another room. We had no sleep as felt itch all night and they bought no bedding for my son so he had to sleep under a towel that night, the next morning before we had even had any breakfast we were told we needed to move to another room so off we went to pack up again and move to the 3rd room. This started our day off badly after no sleep and using all or energy moving room we were deflated. sunday we got up and went uome didnt even do out day out as planned, I was offered a partial refund of not even half, after being home for a wk had to rung them 3 times to sort this, A parking ticket arrived for their free carpark so a £100 parking ticket because they said it didn't put my email in a screen on their desk ? He asked me to add my numberplate which i did. When asked if they could sort this the answer was 'NO YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY IT' they wanted us to keep quiet about the bed bugs while we was their once we had left they didn't care. We were polite and respected this, but on reflection they really don't care that they knowingly put us in a room which they knew had bed bugs. Date of stay: July 2026

Stayed for 2 nights, as we were attending a family funeral. I am a wheelchair user and occupied the accessible room on the ground floor - just as well, because the day we were leaving, the fire alarm went off and the auto lock fire doors released and trapped my wheelchair - with me in it! Had I been alone, I could not have freed myself, but I was being pushed, so was released from the door's embrace. The room was clean enough, the soaps etc. full and the towels fluffy. One of the lights was out in the bathroom, and despite reporting it at once, this wasn't rectified over the 2 nights. The air conditioning was working well - and I was glad as the weather was very hot. I had two problems during my stay though. 1)When we got back from the funeral gathering, despite their being notices up on the outside wall, warning about hefty fines for parking in the Blue Badge bays whilst NOT displaying a blue badge, these bays were FULL, and only ONE of the vehicles had a blue badge on display. The notice said to report any instance to the hotel staff, and when I did, she was as much use as a chocolate teapot. There was plenty of vacant space on the far side of the car park, but as a wheelchair user of 53 years, I was extremely angry about this flagrant abuse remaining unchallenged. The notice is clear. The extra width of those bays is to allow a 'chair using driver like me, to exit the vehicle safely. One of the illegally parked vehicles had parked so far back in the bay, they had blocked the path from the B.B. spaces into the hotel. I was forced onto the roadway, at night, where it is unlit. Yes, I WAS - and still am, fuming. What's the point in having warning signs and following instructions to apprise staff, if they just sit there saying they are sorry and shrugging? 2) The other problem was entirely of my husband's making. He was given my late Father's signet ring at the funeral, and put it on the bedside table overnight. We were about 10 miles towards home, when he realised he no longer had the ring, or the box it was in. I decided to drive back to the hotel rather than just phone, and although the room had been cleaned and prepared for the next customer, the maid had found nothing. The manager kindly escorted my husband back to the room and there, next to the skirting board, sitting on the dark blue carpet, was the dark blue ring box with my late Father's ring inside it. The maid had obviously missed it and it had been pushed back when vacuuming. Normally my husband does a careful check of the room before we leave, but due to the fire alarm we had to wait quite some time before we could retrieve the suitcase, and he rushed rather than checked. Happily the alarm went off due to someone's steamy shower, but safety procedures have to be followed. My husband will never leave an hotel room again without checking around twice! We are very grateful to the kindness of the manager for allowing my husband access to the room in order to double check. The ring has huge sentimental value of course. My sentiments towards my husband may be imagined! The hotel is situated on the Bedford Bypass and is exactly where we needed it to be. We were there for a funeral , not a luxury break, and will be happy to stay again when our next visit to Bedford is scheduled. Many Thanks again to the manager for his assistance.

My son and I stayed here overnight as a pit stop to head off to the Bedford Aerodrome circuit. We were pleasantly surprised how nice it actually was, from the location to the friendly staff, clean rooms, nice food, good breakfast and also how quiet it was overall. We were on the second floor looking out onto the car park, so we could see our vehicles. The room had aircon, which was a relief as it was quite warm. The beds were comfortable, however for me it was a bit hard but that is an individual preference. In the morning when we had breakfast we heard a train but from the front of the hotel it was quiet. Overall a good stay and recommended. We would stay here again :)
