  Service and staff great, friendly and helpful. Location also great. Rooms not very good though. Too hot and you can't open window - I think standard in premier inns now. AC doesn't cool room down at night enough (this was late September let alone in a heatwave). WIFi awful unless you pay to upgrade - literally dial up Internet speed.

  Stayed on the 28th August for 1 night (thank goodness it was just 1 night!) as a stop over for our final destination. On arrival I was told that I would have to pay a fee for early check in - I had 17mins until my original check in time. I refused of course, but left my luggage there whilst I walked around the block a few times. I didn’t think this was good service considering it was only 17mins until check in. But that’s the least of my worries with what was to come - when I got into my room to use the toilet I noticed that someone had left a poo in there!!! Not only that but when i inspected the rest of the room the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied and had a used sanitary towel with blood on it. I went downstairs to complain, I’ve got to say the lady I spoke to this time (not the original lady that wouldn’t let me check in early without a fee) was wonderful, but mortified understandably. She offered to change the room and also free breakfast for myself and family. However I said the breakfast wouldn’t be needed as we were leaving before it was served. The new room had a cleaner bathroom. Although thick limescale around the taps could be noticed, dirty plug hole, the toilet seat was coming off and a big hole in one of the bathroom towels too. But I thought, it’s ok, the bins are empty, toilet is clean! When we went to bed we noticed we didn’t have any spare pillows - usually premier inn provide these in a separate bag in the wardrobe. It’s a shame because it turns out our pillows were absolutely filthy apart from 1. They all had big yellow stains on and they weren’t double covered as they usually are exposing the filthy state of the pillows underneath. My husband went downstairs to get these changed and they gave us brand new ones instead. I have never experienced anything like this before in any hotel, and we stay in premier inns for work and leisure as we always know what we’re getting ‘clean and comfortable’ is our priority. But we could not believe how awful this place was considering how great the location was. It needs a major deep clean and better cleaners at the very least. So if you do go and stay - make sure you’re checking bins, toilets and pillows before settling down in your room! Safe to say we will be staying elsewhere on our next stop over to Bath.

  Good location, but this place is a bit of a dump. Peeling wallpaper, stained carpets, clogged sink, moldy caulk in shower, and the water kettle was rusted on the inside bottom. The pictures online are very misleading. Other Premier Inn locations tend to be nice, but I recommend avoiding this one. Also asked to have our room cleaned on day and they forgot to do so.

  For cleaning and making the room, they have a system that the guest has to inform the reception before noon. Putting the ‘Make my room’ card outside the door is not enough. They don’t inform the guest of this provision while checking-in. But there is a notice to the effect inside the elevator. On our second day here, we hung rhe card outside the door but did not inform at the reception counter. So, the room was not made when we returned in the evening. Informing this at the reception, they said that the housekeeping staff have left for the day; so they can’t do it now. They gave us fresh towels, but that was all. The next day (3rd day), they made the room. On the 4th day, I made it a point to tell the reception before leaving in the morning that my room should be made, and they recorded it in their system; but it was not made when we returned in the evening. Again, I complained at the reception before leaving. They apologised, but said they can’t do anything as their housekeeping service is not available in the evening. They said they would inform the Manager about our complaint. On the 5th day (after 4 nights), I again informed the reception before leaving in the morning that my room should be made and also told them of their lapse the previous day. They said it won’t happen again and would certainly be made that day. But, when we returned in the evening, the room was not made. Again I complained at the reception counter. They apologised but said nothing can be done in the evening. I told them it had not been cleaned for two consecutive days. They brought fresh towels and the receptionist came to the room and took away the trash from the dust-bins. That was all. So, out of the four nights that we have stayed here, the room has been cleaned only once. They apologise every time, but seems to have become a ritual. The hotel is not cleaning our room despite multiple requests each day. The maintenance staff came to fix a broken curtain rod. He stepped on the sofa with his dirty shoes on and left without cleaning it. There is no phone in the rooms so guests have to physically go down to the reception if any service or assistance is needed.

  I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. It looks nice in reception, but it gradually gets worse the further you go. Easily hands down the worst UK hotel I have ever stayed in. The room had bugs that bit me repeatedly overnight (I even captured some in a glass to show reception). Finding them led me to inspect the bedding and surrounding area/ floor more closely with a torch, revealing stains and stray hairs on and inside the bed, nail clippings and used tissues under the bed. The space was so filthy that I had to go to a nearby Tesco for antibacterial spray and cleaning supplies just to tolerate staying there. The rest of the room smelled heavily of damp and stale smoke. The carpet was unvacuumed with visible hairs and as mentioned previously, someone else's nail clippings on the floor. There were brown stains on the walls, skirting boards, and carpet including one that looked like blood along with questionable marks on the headboard. Because the windows do not open, there is zero ventilation, causing mold buildup in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom also had an unflushed toilet upon arrival and residue in the sink. Overall, the rooms are tired, filthy, and in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation. I left smelling of damp mold and smoke, which completely embedded into my clothes and suitcase. I had to wash everything on high heat immediately upon getting home to sanitize against the bugs anyway but it would've been needed for the smell regardless. The location is the only positive, but there are far nicer, similarly priced hotels nearby. I honestly would have rather slept in my car and would have felt cleaner doing so. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here.
