  Not up to the standard we expected as long time diamond Hilton members even for the budget brand in their collection. In a very humid southern climate location, some degree of humidity is to be expected. A hastily(arguably poorly) renovated property with evidence of pervasive mold issues covered with an overwhelming use of branded air freshener however is ill-representative of Hilton's standards. As a quick overnight stop en route to another destination it gave us a place to stop for the night. Had it not been late when we arrived, it is highly likely we would have gone elsewhere.

  These stars are solely for an employee named Reneda, bc if it wasn’t for her and her kindness I’d have a lot more to say. 1st reaction was “ok we are only here for a night we can ignore the rude guy who wasn’t even at the front desk ….it’s just one night”. He seemed more interested in tending to the group of people in the breakfast area which may have been his friends or family since it seemed like they knew each other rather well then checking us in and it seems like we were a bother to show up and interrupt his time with the group. Gave me the impression he thought he was entitled maybe a manager or someone that thinks his behavior was justified? Honestly he was about two words away from hearing some choice words from me when he was rude to my daughter however I was tired and took that into consideration and bit my tongue to avoid him finding out how I can go from 0 to 100 when my child is involved. The hotel smells ….period…… it’s that cleaning products trying to cover something else smell that makes it just smell like a dirty gym bag smell if you know what I mean and my eyes were nonstop tearing in our room given this only happens to me when I’m near mold and mildew (learned this when I used to volunteer at a soup kitchen lol) I think they may have something going on behind the walls since I didn’t see anything but I literally “cried” the entire night. Visually the place is normal and comparative to any other spark but given this isn’t the first Hilton chain or even Spark that we’ve stayed in and we have stayed in Hampton Inns to LXRs it was the most basic carb only breakfast options I’ve seen yet it made me wonder where the usual Hilton standard options were? I overheard another guest comment about the same thing so it wasn’t just me that noticed there breakfast wasn’t up to par. I contest it so it doesn’t phase me but she loves breakfast. Disappointing was an understatement. It was if they stopped at Walmart along the way to stock it with the store brand bag o cereals . An older guest walked into the area huffed and walked out which was a bit amusing since peanut asked if we could go get “real breakfast after this” right before the guy walked in. Now for the star and the rockstar employee Reneda who was not only great when 3 different guests came to her with questions simultaneously or watching her handle the disgruntled gentleman with a smile but what sealed the deal for me was when I asked her where the closest blue mailbox was since I always mail a letter to my daughter about our travel adventures so when we get home she has a daily log by letters in the mail bc she couldn’t recall it. Reneda offered to drop it at the post office on her way home after work that single small act of kindness changed my entire overview of this experience. To Renada keep being you! The world need more smiles and kindness may the good you do come back in 10 fold and maybe you should give the guy that worked the night before a few pointers on customer service.😜

  The manager was very accommodating. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.

  This is my second time staying at this hotel. I purposely try to get Spark hotels because they are Hilton rebranded older hotels that tend to be priced well and Hilton does a nice refurb. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Will stay again.
