Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect destination for your Savannah experience, steps from City Market, Forsyth Park, Ellis Square, River Street and more than 150 restaurants and bars. Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, our hotel is the perfect mix of old and new featuring a historic building with authentic suites along with modern rooms, gathering spaces and amenities that every visitor will love. Known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay", our building was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940's and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in the vibrant Ellis Square that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned Historic District. Guests enjoy our acclaimed location in the heart of it all, along with true Southern hospitality. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located next door. Then embark on one of the tours Savannah has to offer with several iconic squares located steps from our door. Make your way down cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food. Hotel Indigo sets the stage for a remarkable Savannah stay!

The staff greets you as soon as you walk in the door. With warm smiles and friendly voices. Checking is easy. Tasha at front desk is amazing. The beds are comfortable. The bar is nice and bar tenders are friendly. The staff in the restaurant are knowledgeable of the menu and suggestions. The location is convenient to great food options all walking distance. River street is also in walking distance. Overall great location.

Location is excellent if intending to stay in the historic district. Easy walking distance to City Market, River St, (with an entrance directly across the street.) Staff was top tier! Only complaint was road noise. Our room faced Bay St but the noise of large vehicles hitting a dip in the road right off the crosswalk was nonstop. Little sleep due to this. Beds & pillows were comfortable but if staying here I'd suggest requesting a room that isnt against a street.

Best thing about the hotel is the staff. Most everything else... Not so great. Cleanliness: mold on the walls and ceiling our first room. Moved to second room, mold visible in the air conditioner. Noise: odd numbered rooms are exposed to street traffic noise. Even numbered rooms are exposed to party noise, usually from 11-2 at night there is deep bass from somewhere... Surprisingly you don't hear neighbors from other rooms. Smell: at first when you walk in the room there is a nice fragrance. It fades away through the day and by nighttime there is a musty foul odor. It's probably from underground or just being really old. There's a lot of history in Savannah, and you're going to smell it. Lighting: gets relatively dark to help with sleep. Room layout: rooms are tight. Bathroom vanity is outside the bathroom. Even then the shower and toilet are on top of each other. Amenities: free waters all the time - great. Location: excellent location but you pay for it at night with the noise. I can't imagine what noise would be like at busier times. Gym: small gym with 6 machines and some free weights. No one is ever there so it's all yours. Other general observations: bar is good and bartender great. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I can't fault the staff here - the hotel is just really dated. I couldn't get over the smell. The smell is not unique to this hotel. We found other places with a similar smell, especially when sourcing air from underground (probably).

I am currently writing this in my room. You hear absolutely everything. I heard someone puking, all the cars, and the exit door slamming closed every time someone used the door, and worse the walking traffic light countdown. I do not recommend staying here because it is not quiet and they don't care if you don't like your room. I tried to call the front desk, but the buttons don't work on the phone so l went in my pajamas to the front desk and asked for ear plugs and to tell them this room was terrible. The front desk did not care. Don't waste your money. I've stayed at different Indigos this is by far the worst staffed and the rooms are just ok. This particular room had scratches on the wall and the cardboard for flooring in front of the door. We also paid 48 dollars for parking, which is fine but they had no ev charging stations.

Staff was wonderful and location was pretty prime. The room was AWFUL. Mold everywhere, from the AC vents to the showerhead caked with black mold. Room was very dirty and sticky when my wife and I arrived. Dropped something behind the fridge and nightstand and when I went to pull them out found dirt, hair, popcorn, and a bottle of cologne very visible before even moving the furniture. The musty moldy smell is very apparent as soon as we walked into the room and it's clear there are moisture issues from the rust on the lighting and plumbing fixtures. The quality of the room was very unacceptable for the price paid, and my wife and I both had problems with breathing while in the room. We ended up moving our flight up because the experience in the room completely ruined the mood of our trip. Disappointed is an understatement and unacceptable doesn't begin to cover the state of the room.
