Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect destination for your Savannah experience, steps from City Market, Forsyth Park, Ellis Square, River Street and more than 150 restaurants and bars. Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, our hotel is the perfect mix of old and new featuring a historic building with authentic suites along with modern rooms, gathering spaces and amenities that every visitor will love. Known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay", our building was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940's and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in the vibrant Ellis Square that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned Historic District. Guests enjoy our acclaimed location in the heart of it all, along with true Southern hospitality. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located next door. Then embark on one of the tours Savannah has to offer with several iconic squares located steps from our door. Make your way down cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food. Hotel Indigo sets the stage for a remarkable Savannah stay!

Hotel is having some renovations so guests have to fend for themselves due to elevators being out of service and entranceway that is blocked. Long wait to be greeted at reception by an unenthusiastic hotel clerk. The hotel does not feel secure, since anyone can enter the building at any time, no key card required for the elevators (the ones that work). Uncomfortable bed, felt like a 30 year old old spring-coil type. It's a shame because the hotel has history and could be better. The lounge and complimentary drinks were nice. Convenient to all dining and shopping. 1 block from River St. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Have I stayed in worse hotels? Yes.

I would not have booked this hotel had they been transparent. The property is surrounded by loud construction that was never disclosed at booking or before arrival. It is disruptive and visually an eyesore. Upon arrival, valet staff were cold and completely unhelpful. No greeting. No offer to assist with bags. No cart. No directions. No basic courtesy. The elevators to the suites are broken. The “alternate” elevator only goes to the second floor, forcing guests to carry luggage up stairs to reach the suites. I had bags and no support staff available. A front desk employee had to carry my luggage upstairs herself because the hotel was not properly staffed or functioning. The only compensation offered was dinner for one night. That does not meaningfully address construction noise, broken elevators, and a poor arrival experience. This stay felt misrepresented and poorly managed.

A pretty bad experience! Talk about scraping just to get to three stars. It’s clearly a property that IHG has neglected with panels missing from ceiling hallways, unfinished floors, and a lack of adequate staffing. That means everything takes longer and nothing works that well. But the highlight was when the fire alarm went off on our second night. I guess that’s not the hotel’s fault but given the, let’s say, “spotty” elevator service (one time the call button was unresponsive; another it had a “no communication” light flashing), who’s to say. I can’t think of a good reason to stay here other than location. That’s all it has going for it, and there are plenty of other hotels in the area. Go elsewhere.

first off the valet drivers smell of marijuana there should be drug tested..second you can't understand what they are saying they speak to low and no eye contact.. And they charge you $30.00 a night for valet even though you never moved your car NOT 1 time. RIDICULOUS second they tried to charge us more then what our reservation was. then they charged us a additional $75.00 per night for incidentals. then they tried to say sorry and gives us some free drink chips. third elevators were broken . fourth then room service comes to our room at 8:45 am didn't knock tried to open door . when I go to door we tell her can she come back in hour. she states NO iam here now!. WOW!!!! fifth I call down stairs to have fresh towels and they state we can't bring them you have to come get them. states we have no one to bring them. go out of my room i see 2 room service staff on my floor. go down to loddy I see 3 staff members walking around. this will be the last time we stay here I WOULDN'T recommend staying at this location unless you get it real cheap like $50.00 a night . holiday inn would treat u better and at checkout they tried to charge an additional fee after we paid in full plus our $250 fee. manager Ashlie had us wait to speak with her . and front desk associate talk negative UPDATE THOSE FREE COMPLIMENTARY DRINK CHIPS/COINS THAT THEY GAVE US AT CHECK IN THEY CHARGED US FOR THEM. BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST !!!!!!! I WILL DEFINITELY LOOK AT OTHER HOTELS IN AREA.

If I could give a negative 100, I would. I’m not usually someone who leaves reviews, but this was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. It took over two hours and FOUR different room attempts before we were placed somewhere we could even stay. • The first room had a strong dog odor and smelled like urine. • The second room hadn’t even been cleaned after the previous guest checked out. • The third room had dirty pillowcases and hair all over the bed. All of this was witnessed by a staff member who accompanied us and saw the conditions firsthand. After finally being moved to a fourth room, another guest was somehow given access to our room. On top of that, we were unable to retrieve our vehicle due to valet issues, and our room key was deactivated twice. Throughout this entire experience, the response from management felt dismissive — as if an apology and a small discount should make everything acceptable. It absolutely does not. The number of issues, the lack of urgency, and the attitude from higher management were extremely disappointing. This experience was stressful, unsanitary, and completely unacceptable. I would not recommend staying here.
