I enjoyed my stay. Was afraid to use the water at sink again washing my hands and brushing teeth. Water was fine at first, then shot out aggressively and black stuff ran out in the sink for a moment before it went clear again. Don't know what it was, but other than that its a nice hotel

This stay revealed a stark contrast between genuinely kind frontline staff and deeply problematic management, resulting in an experience that felt unnecessarily adversarial and distressing.
From check-in onward, reasonable requests were consistently dismissed. One side of the hotel sits directly on a loud, busy street, and despite requesting a quieter room at booking and again at check-in, no accommodation was offered and no effort was made to explore alternatives. The overall message was simply “no,” without problem-solving or escalation.
During Angela’s night shifts, multiple basic requests for room assistance were denied. When we requested housekeeping help after a spill, we were handed a broom and expected to clean the room ourselves. On another occasion, additional pillows were provided in unsanitary condition, without pillowcases and with a noticeable odor. These experiences created a clear pattern during her shifts in which guests felt like inconveniences rather than customers.
When a room change was eventually offered later in the evening, it was handled in a way that felt punitive and intimidating. We were given a strict 30-minute ultimatum to move all belongings and told that if we did not complete the move within that time, we would be locked out of the room and unable to retrieve anything left behind. The abrupt shift from “not possible” to a pressured accommodation was deeply unsettling.
During this interaction, calm advocacy for my family was characterized as “aggressive.” I was told I was “not a guest” because my name was not on the booking, informed that my concerns would not be taken seriously, and threatened with law enforcement. The overall handling left us feeling targeted and unsafe.
The situation escalated to the point that Hilton corporate guest services had to intervene during our active stay. We were instructed to bypass the front desk during Angela’s shifts and contact corporate directly if our room required assistance.
Compounding this, Penny later attempted to close the corporate case by reporting that she had spoken with my mother and resolved the concerns. This conversation never occurred. Neither my mother nor I received any follow-up, despite corporate indicating that contact was required. This further reinforced a culture in which travelers appeared to be treated as problems rather than guests.
It is important to note that this experience was not reflective of all staff. Cory, the breakfast bar staff, and the housekeeping staff on the 4th floor were consistently kind, professional, and genuinely caring. Their warmth and attentiveness stood in stark contrast to the management experience and were the only reason this stay was tolerable.
Additionally, the primary reason we chose this property was for the pool. Unfortunately, the pool was frigid, and we were informed the heater was broken — an issue repeatedly mentioned in other recent reviews.
Hospitality requires professionalism, accountability, and basic empathy. While some staff embodied those values beautifully, the conduct of Angela and Penny undermined them entirely.
I would not stay at this property again.

The first bedroom had bedbugs crawling on rhw bed and floor. They gave another room. We checked it and nothing was on beds and floors. But in the am when i went to was my hair I saw a bedbug in the towel. I would never come back to stay and they charge a lot for a room full of bedbugs.

Can't say enough about how nice the staff was during our stay. Misty was working the check-in desk, and she went above and beyond to be helpful. She told us about the free downtown shuttle and provided advise on where to eat. She was very friendly and very nice to our grandkids.
Additionally, the breakfast staff the next morning was very friendly, nice and helpful. We stayed the night of November 29th, 2025. Wish we had stayed longer.
