ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE‼️‼️ ILLEGAL EVICTION WITH MY KIDS IN FREEZING COLD!! 😡😡😡 Not disability friendly 🛑
I can’t even type this without shaking from anger and the cold we endured. AVOID THIS discriminatory hotel AT ALL COSTS!! On my 7th PAID night (Dec 30, 2025), despite an ACTIVE IHG corporate case #2025-00142866 waiving my fees, that rude front desk agent refused to give me a folio or receipts. Then GM Devona Sinclair-Velazquez lost her mind, got really nasty when I asked for basic courtesy after finding OLD TRASH AND ROTTING FOOD under the sink in my room. I cleaned it MYSELF without making a scene because it was disgusting but I just wanted to stay with my babies as I am waiting for my home to be finished.
She FLAT OUT REFUSED to waive incidentals, not because it couldn’t be done but because she was upset I reached out to IHG corporate, she then told they were not waiving the incidental fee on my 8th night after promising that on my eighth night, I will no longer be charged a fee rather if I book through IHG or through my app. At this point, the manager was in retaliatory mode claiming my because my autistic 5yo peed on sheets I now will not be getting any refunds with any of my incidentals. Ms. Sinclair-Velazquez stated there’d be “so much cleaning” when I left. I CLEAN EVERY SINGLE DAY,they KNOW because I call front desk daily about what I fixed!! I have PICTURES of the spotless room, and the POLICE even walked through to verify NOTHING was damaged. But Ms. Velazquez went IRATE,… the fact that she called my phone back (which I have record of) screaming I could “take my kids and get off HER property”!! was absolutely insane!!! I begged for fairness, asked for it IN WRITING,she said she didn’t have to put anything in writing & now she’ll call the police to have me escorted..(Total retaliatory actions)
They called COPS to ESCORT US OUT like criminals!! Threatened to TOW MY CAR (that they SAID was fine to park there while staying!!). Mind you I had been there since the 23rd of December, it is now December 30th…. So we definitely know the towing of my car was a big ego trip for her…..Myself & my 2 children stood outside SHIVERING IN FREEZING TEMPS waiting for Uber with my little ones,no coats, no nothing. I will reach out CIVIL STANDBY just to get my stuff back if my things are towed. I can assure you Ms Sinclair-Velazquez, as you told me that you’ll do what you want because you’re the manager all at my expense, we will most certainly let the courts decide at who’s expense. This is WRONGFUL SELF-HELP EVICTION under Georgia law for extended stays,I’m filing in Henry County Magistrate Court TOMORROW for damages!! (Cold exposure, emotional trauma to my kids, full refund, everything!!)
Attached pics show how CLEAN I left the room, corporate SEE THIS!! They even accused me of stealing a stupid basket 😩. This manager has ZERO customer service, no hospitality, no class.
And parents with special needs kids BEWARE ADA VIOLATION!! I disclosed my 5yo is AUTISTIC to staff from day 1,they KNEW she has needs, yet GM Devona used his accidental sheet wetting as an excuse to not return my multiple incidental fees they still have & never returned. ILLEGALLY EVICTED us with POLICE in FREEZING COLD knowing a disabled child was vulnerable!! Exposed my baby to hypothermia risk, screaming we’d have “so much cleaning” because of his autism. This is ADA Title III DISCRIMINATION—targeting families with disabilities!! Filing federal DOJ complaint + suing. PROTECT YOUR KIDS, AVOID!! 😡🛑 The only way you will not have any issues is if you don’t complain. I truly believe because I am a black single mom they feel that they can get away with this type of targeting, However, not so. My family and I have patronized IHG Hotels for years, and I will make sure this does not fly under the radar.

Our stay at the Candlewood Inn in McDonough, GA was absolutely fantastic! The full kitchen was a must-have for us and made the trip so much easier. Add in the free laundry (a total lifesaver!) and it checked every box.
They don't serve breakfast here, but honestly, with the amount of space in the room and the ability to cook our own meals, it wasn’t a downside at all. The room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable—perfect for settling in.
We did run into a couple of minor issues during our stay, but every single one of them was handled immediately, professionally, and with total respect. That level of care goes a long way.
A huge shoutout to the front desk staff, the housekeeping team I interacted with, and the manager. Every one of them had great personalities and were genuinely friendly. They were all wonderful, Ms. D!
And the unexpected cherry on top? The lobby music was fantastic and gave the whole place such a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
Highly recommend this location. We’ll definitely be back!
