  The front desk receptionists are excepcional!!! The hotel is clean, breakfast has good variety of food (eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, biscuits, fruits, oatmeal, and granola bars). I picked a 1 King size bedroom and it was nice and spacious. Since the hotel is sitting on a hill, the front has benches with an outlook towards the mountains which look beautiful!

  Beautiful views from the hotel! Its very cozy and close to the Blue Ridge city. We came around early Fall and you can see the colors of the trees change. The receptionist and breakfast manager were also friendly. The bathrooms have vent fans! (I love a bathroom with a vent haha). Only disadvantage I felt were that there were no microwaves in the room.

  We booked this hotel for October. We knew we would paying a high amount as it is peak tourism season. Upon checking in, we were given the run down. "The pool and hot tub are unavailable during your stay. Also housekeeping is limited during your stay. Your towels will be changed but your beds will not be made." Then we were handed our keys and told where the stairs were located. No elevator. So keep this in mind if you have trouble with stairs. Breakfast could have been better. The biscuits were so dry they crumbled. (Both mornings) The cereal selection was geared to children. (Mainly apple jacks, corn pops, and cheerios) They have a tiny area for breakfast with limited seating. Some people were standing to eat, while others trecked back up the stairs with food in hand. The breakfast area has a view of the pool, which appears to have been under construction for a long time. The boards over the pool look rotten and are warped. Maybe some curtains to hide the mess would be helpful. The driveway that leads to the hotel is very steep and has several rough areas in need of repair. The people working were very friendly. The overall stay was fine, but for $556 I expected a better breakfast, an elevator and my bed made.

  The view is great, the staff is very attentive and caring. The heated pool and jacuzzi are non existent. The best western site has it removed but google still shows it. It was removed in 2021 or 2022, and the entire building was removed. There is no sign of renovations. The king suite room has a jacuzzi tub that doesn’t work and probably hasn’t for a while. Multiple requests to fix it and they just say they will make note of it. The wifi maxes out at 20mbps down and 7.8 up. There is a gravel road about 50yds past the roadway sign. Its much easier than the broken driveway. There are no elevators and breakfast is 7-9 but coffee and tea station stays open into the night.

  I would have gone with five stars (1) if there had been an elevator available for senior-friendly access to level 2 rooms (which in all fairness, the hotel did call me one day in advance and alert me about); and (2) if the breakfast area had been a little less cramped, with a longer serving window than 7 am to 9 am - making it difficult to enjoy. despite the really friendly kitchen staff. The hotel parking lot is at an elevation and provides panoramic views, with benches to sit on and enjoy! Brenda at the front desk went above and beyond to show us (with a detailed printed map) a recommended scenic view route covering the area. The location is great for exploring local attractions including several orchards, cider taverns and wineries.
