I get into my room and get settled in. I notice my room has one of those doors that can be opened to the adjoining room. I think nothing of it. Clean up and climb into bed. The guests in that adjoining room arrive and it sounds like they are in the room with me! That door doesn’t block much sound. About 15 minutes later, there is a dog in that room, sounded like a small little yipper, yapper dog, just going absolutely apeshit with incessant, loud barking. Like I said, that adjoining door did not seem to block much sound. It sounded like that dog was in the bed with me! And it would not stop. It went on for about 20 minutes. I called down to the front desk, but there was no answer. I then tried calling room-to-room, but no one in that room picked up the phone. I finally went and knocked on the door, but there was no answer. I could hear the dog continue to bark loudly. I went down to the front desk and they apologized and gave me an identical room down the hallway. I got my stuff moved and got back into bed. Woke up sometime later…something landed on my face!!! I turned on the light…it’s a ladybug. Aw, no worries. Harmless. Then I see that there are two more in the bedside light’s shrouding. I scoop them up, take them out to the hallway, and set them on the heating unit by the window, just outside my room. And the door to my room shuts behind me and locks!! I’m standing in the hallway in my boxers and a t-shirt!! Jeez, this night just ain’t my night! I walk down the stairs, hoping not to run into anyone (it’s late and I didn’t) and went to the front desk and explained my predicament. A friendly apology about the bugs (it’s ladybug season and I totally understand. Better than tarantula season!!). I get a new key card and I’m back to my room for a great sleep. Nice and quiet. No worries.
