  Newer building,great location for a 1 night stop. Make sure to go next door and eat at I am nacho mamma

  I didn’t realize TRU hotels were independently owned and operated. This one has a pet fee of $75.00 whereas the TRU we stayed at the previous night was $25.00. This one had an inadequate number of luggage carts and the front desk was unwilling to call the rooms where people had just checked in and were obviously keeping them until the next morning. Very annoying.

  First, the staff was great. Very friendly and professional. But that’s where the positive experience ends. The walls are paper thin. If you want to listen to the traffic on the highway and all of your neighboring rooms conversations and “other activities” all night long, then this is the place for you. If not, do not book here. The bathroom in my room was a disaster (see pics). No washcloths or tissues in the room. Then there was the shower. . . Nobody wants a random “hair” in the shower on the provided shampoo 🤮 Add the fact that the handle in the shower was all jacked up, there was a bug on the floor of the shower, the water pressure was non-existent and the temperature kept changing while I was using the shower and I really can’t see how they don’t get violations from Hilton Corporate. Tried to find a redeeming factor with breakfast the next morning and NOPE ~ NOT TODAY. Options were minimal. Just plain bagels, no other flavors. Even the Spark (lower tiered Hilton brand) I stayed at a few weeks ago had two other bagel flavors. And when I went to get some OJ the only thing that came out of the dispenser was water. So disappointed. Staying at another Tru tonight in Lumberton NC and this one is already knocking it out of the park. So I really think Brunswick GA is just a really cheaply made and managed hotel (no washcloths or tissue tells me they are trying to save $).

  In an effort to start with the positive I will say the customer service was top tier. Beatrice is a very sweet young lady. She was professional and apologetic for issues beyond her control. My shower had the appearance of not being properly cleaned. She offered another room on the same floor, across the hall. I declined because the shower was worse. I requested some cleaner and cleaned it myself as best I could with limited supplies. It was well after midnight so I was tired and did not know before being able to rest after a long day I would be back and forth with this issue. I love Hilton properties and they are a top choice because of the cleanliness and customer service. I made an attempt to speak with the General Manager upon check out. I was told she was not in but there was a note about my issue and I would receive a call. That never happened. I have pictures I will attempt to upload. Not sure how much you can tell after all there is nothing like being there. Not sure if you can see the hair that was there as well in the pic.

  *UPDATE* I did receive a call back from a Manager and she apologized and did add Honor Points which is fair. Thank you. Check for bugs We specifically came here because the reviews were better than others and it's a newer hotel. As truckers and former property manager, I look for cleanliness and no bugs. Our greeting was nice by two women and lobby was clean as well the room. BUT THEN as soon as I sat on the edge of the bed, a HUGE bug ran between my feet from under the bed. We had to pull the bench away from wall to find and chase it to kill it. Zipped up suitcases right away and rechecked the room for more. Front desk couldn't move us because there's no other King bed available. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well wondering if more would come out in the dark room. The night desk woman took my name and said the Manager will call me. The morning desk woman gave me a card with the Manager's name and number. I called Nancy's # but it only took text messages for employment opportunities. Doubt they'll call. We just wanted some type of compensation like points or something. This Hilton property higher ups should do better in customer communication. Again, the front desk ladies were great and I understand they couldn't add points or decrease the bill.
