I had the pleasure of staying at the Starling! Service was outstanding! Latrell and Regina both were amazing and were definitely fresh smiling faces for the hotel. The guy in valet with pretty eyes was very accommodating and the guy who brought our stuff to our room was so helpful when we had to do a room swap!
The hotel as a whole is beautiful and has so much to offer! From the food court to the movies being connected! The rooms?… it seems like they need a tad bit of TLC. The shower head was coming off, making water splash everywhere. The TV mount was faulty, and the beds HARD as bricks! Don’t get me wrong, when we called engineering, they came immediately and were so amazing! I believe Jay and a bigger older guy that came up to assist!
All in all, I give the hotel, 6/10.

Supposed chic hotel that now caters to obnoxiously loud frat-style parties til 1 am on weeknights and violating noise ordinances. If that is your vibe, have fun. They appear to be catering to college students and disrupting the Midtown/Piedmont Park neiighborhood. This is not a "boutique" hotel anymore.
12:30 am and their management sees nothing wrong with constant screaming.
Eta: the reason your valet takes so long is because they do overflow at the apartments next door. The guys are hoofing it all day.
Response: full of it. They are not staffing the night shift at all or giving any of their workers wherewithal. Some jerks rented the party room until 2 am? Sure! Shots shots shots scream shots scream scream scream shots scream. Scream. Shots? Yes of course! I thought you would never get done ignoring everything, like their security.

I am extremely disappointed with how my cancellation was handled and the level of unprofessionalism I experienced from this hotel.
I spent the entire day trying to call the front desk to cancel a reservation due to a COVID related illness. Each time, the phone was answered and then immediately disconnected. After multiple attempts, my call was eventually rerouted to a customer service center, which finally connected me with a manager named Venice.
Unfortunately, the interaction with Venice was unacceptable. She refused to provide even the first initial of her last name, was rude and argumentative, and showed no empathy whatsoever. When I explained that my husband had tested positive for COVID using an at-home test, she demanded proof in order to issue a refund. When I explained that there was no official documentation to provide, she compared my situation to her needing proof to call out of work which was inappropriate and completely unreasonable.
We were essentially told that unless we provided proof that we cannot reasonably obtain, we would not receive a refund. This forced us into the position of either losing our money or traveling while potentially exposing others to COVID, which is irresponsible and alarming.
We are frequent guests and have stayed here many times in the past, but based on this experience, we will not be returning after this stay. The lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service from both front desk staff and management was unacceptable.

Major Decline in Service
My wife and I have stayed at The Starling Atlanta Midtown in the past and had great experiences, which is why we chose to return. Unfortunately, this stay was a huge disappointment.
The biggest issue started with parking. I asked valet staff multiple times about self-parking and was repeatedly told it was $16 per day, with a re-entry fee. The next day, I discovered the charge was actually $60 per night. When I raised the issue, both valet staff and management admitted they gave me incorrect information but said there was nothing they could do because the garage is “separate from the hotel.” That is unacceptable—guests rely on hotel staff for accurate information. Offering a late checkout and free breakfast did nothing to resolve the actual problem.
Because of this, for the second night I chose not to park on property at all. Instead, I parked down the street at a competitor’s hotel using the iParkit website and paid $30 overnight, less than half of what The Starling charges. That alone speaks volumes.
The room itself was not clean. While it looked nice at first, closer inspection showed dirty carpets, unclean countertops, and no basic glassware—not what you expect from a “luxury” Curio Collection property.
Service continued to disappoint. We requested a bucket of ice for champagne—something that was provided without issue during previous stays. This time, we were told it was not available. After being redirected to the bar, we waited over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged in an almost empty restaurant and ended up with two rocks glasses—still no ice bucket.
To make matters worse, housekeeping skipped our room entirely the following day, despite the room already being less than clean when we arrived.
I’ve been a Hilton member for over 20 years and have stayed at many upscale Hilton properties. The level of service here does not reflect Hilton standards, especially at the prices being charged. The decline since our last stay earlier this year is noticeable and concerning.
This stay was a waste of money, and we did not enjoy our time at the hotel at all. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property.

Alright let’s get into the good the bad and the straight up ugly.
The good: The overall aesthetic was wonderful. We came during Christmas time and the decor was simply beautiful. The room was great!! Very dim as it could use more lighting especially when it’s dark out but overall we enjoyed the room. The bathroom and shower were awesome! No complaints! We loved that the hotel was connected to Politan row. It made getting dinner or lunch super accessible and easy. The food inside Politan row was next level and deserves it own review of 5/5 stars. The location puts you smack dab in the middle of some awesome restaurants that are also walking distance.
The bad and the UGLY: DO NOT I repeat DO NOT stay here if you plan to have a car and you need to park anywhere on site. Valet will run you about $75ish a day and parking in the attached garage will cost you just about $30 EVERYTIME you leave. With $60 being the grand total if you stay overnight in the garage. This definitely hit us by surprise. If we had know how much we’d pay just to put our car somewhere overnight we wouldn’t have stayed here at all. The rate for the hotel itself was awesome just to have anything we saved be overtaken by parking fees. The amount we paid in parking was almost as much as we spent on the room itself. I really wanted to give the hotel a full 4 stars but really feel that the crazy parking fees negatively affected our overall impressions of this hotel.
Overall: is this hotel lavish, cozy, in a great location with a decent nightly rate?? Absolutely. I implore you to research parking beforehand as it could sway your decision to stay here. If we stay here again we will not be using a rental car and we’d prefer to ride share. Now maybe the parking rates are competitive to hotels around the Starling but again…I hope others are better prepared for it than we were.
