Online pictures made it seem nicer than it was overall. Staff was friendly and great proximity to good and drinks. Housekeeping could do a better job for sure. Bathroom had hair in shower and around shower, makeup remover pad in corner of the bathroom, etc. Didn't feel like I had a clean room overall but did feel like I had clean sheets. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Building in the room had decent amount of wear and tear like he bottom of the slider door being worn to a 1" radius from use, laminate on desk bubbling, etc. Next time in Atlanta I'll probably try to find something newer.
I’ve stayed at this property since it operated as the W, and it was always my preferred hotel in Atlanta. Unfortunately, this was by far the most frustrating and disappointing experience I’ve had here.
Valet is $90 per night, yet the phone went unanswered multiple times, resulting in unnecessary Uber rides and excessive wait times. When you’re paying premium rates, basic responsiveness shouldn’t be an issue.
I booked a spa service to relax, only to wait 45 minutes for an elevator afterward. That completely defeats the purpose of a 90-minute de-stress session.
Out of the entire staff, I can count on one hand fewer than five people who were genuinely kind, allowed me to speak without interruption, or didn’t display an unacceptable attitude. Hospitality should never feel like an inconvenience to the staff.
To top it off, the room condition was unacceptable — two large cracks, visible dust, and a broken toilet seat. That’s simply not the standard this property used to uphold.
I sincerely hope management takes the time to respond or reach out. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I won’t be returning.

I had a very disappointing stay at The Starling Midtown Atlanta. The hotel looks nice in pictures, but the actual experience was far from what I expected.
The room was not properly cleaned, there was visible dust on surfaces, and the bathroom didn’t feel sanitary. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows felt cheap. For a hotel that markets itself as upscale, the overall condition felt neglected.
Customer service was also lacking. The front desk staff were not very welcoming or helpful when I brought up concerns. It felt like guest satisfaction wasn’t a priority.
On top of that, the walls were thin, and I could hear noise from the hallway and nearby rooms late into the night, making it hard to get proper rest.
For the price they charge, I expected much better quality and service. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone visiting Atlanta.

Phenomenal Experience - Front Desk and The Commons Breakfast
February 2026
Stayed here while celebrating my birthday. Regina at the front desk was amazing and so helpful with directions and recommendations and made the stay so enjoyable. The Commons Restaurant was delicious and such a nice departure for y oh e standard hotel breakfast. The staff was phenomenal when with it being packed. Our waitress, Nicole, both mornings remembered our drinks and preferences from the day before and just brought such joy and brightness to the mornings. Briana was so helpful and kind as well. The entire breakfast staff, Briana, Nicole, Tyler & Hanna, were gracious and made sure the food was hot on the Buffett and that everyone had what they needed. I travel quite often both domestically and internationally, and rarely write reviews. Can’t remember the last time I did, but the staff mentioned here deserves the recognition for excellent service. Thank you especially to Regina (front desk) and Nicole & Briana (breakfast) for helping us find a little piece of calm and sanctuary during the chaos of Valentines weekend (and cheerleaders everywhere 😊)

An Unforgettable Birthday Experience
My husband and I drove in from Knoxville, Tennessee for a birthday weekend getaway, and without question, this was one of the most memorable birthday experiences I have ever had. The reason is simple. The people.
From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Our valet, Enoch, unloaded our entire car, brought everything up to the room, hung our jackets in the closet, placed our belongings neatly in the bedroom, and was incredibly accommodating. It set the tone immediately.
Regina at the front office was warm, polished, and genuinely welcoming. Colin, the hotel manager, went above and beyond. He sent a beautiful bottle of champagne and a charcuterie board to our room for my birthday, bought me a celebratory drink on our first night, and followed up afterward with a thoughtful email to ensure everything was superb. That level of leadership is rare.
At the spa, Dervin graciously worked me in last minute for a 50 minute massage with Tomiko, and it was phenomenal. Tomiko is incredibly talented. Dervin also followed up to make sure the experience exceeded expectations, and it absolutely did.
And Dee at the bar made one of the most impressive martinis I have ever had.
The room was spotless. The energy throughout the property was polished yet warm. What stood out most was the consistency. Every single person delivered excellence.
Because of this experience, we have already decided to return once a quarter. I have shared our stay on Instagram and Facebook and will continue recommending this hotel to friends.
Thank you for making my birthday unforgettable. We cannot wait to come back.
