I was excited to stay here because I found an Amex deal and the reviews were really good. Maybe I had high expectations but it was not a four star stay, more like a 2.5 or 3. Good: The bartenders were great and the food was good. I talked to Tina the bar several times and it was such a pleasure. The staff at the bellhop stands and valet were extremely nice and welcoming. They made sure you felt welcomed and gave really good recommendations for Atlanta. The beds were also really comfortable. Bad: They do not do housekeeping unless you ask. I stayed three and everyday when I got back to my room it was not cleaned. I was told they work until 5 so on day 2 I called after 5 and that’s when they sound send someone to clean the room. The espresso machine was broken, ironing board stand broken, some of the front desk staff had horrible attitudes ( not all but some), I did not get an AMEX welcome letter which usually explains the credits so I was confused when I received my bill at checkout. I was told I’d receive a complementary upgrade which I did not, the makeup washcloth was dirty in the room with someone else’s makeup and hair on it, you cannot reach anyone at the front desk, they DO NOT answer unless you call from an outside line. They do not respond to the text communications either. Location: I do not recommend for solo travelers. It is located where there are a lot of homeless camps are and homeless people are everywhere. I did not feel safe once leaving the area in the immediate surroundings. I walked to the cvs that is less than two blocks away and I was approached by at least five of six homeless people asking for money or food. This is more of an Atlanta issue but it was very uncomfortable. There wasn’t a lot of foot traffic in the area either so they knew I was a tourist. Overall, I made the best of my stay but likely would not stay again.

Im from Southern California This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Period. I was hesitant after reading some of the recent reviews, but we had zero issues. The front desk was friendly, they offered to take our bags, valet was quick also. The room was spectacular. The view was phenomenal and we all melted like softened butter on a hot roll in the beds. The room was very clean, had no smells or stains. No bed bugs or any bugs for that matter. I had no dirty socks after walking around, and the towels were fresh as can be and nice and soft unlike most places having stiff and starchy towels. The table was a but wobbly but nothing that affects our use of it. Complementary water bottles and coffee in the room which is a nice touch.I cannot be more satisfied, happy, and thankful this hotel exists. This hotel and the food place we went to really did make my visit to Atlanta that I need to come back to. Charges: we got charged a little over $200 for the room and a $55 fee for overnight valet. The refundable hold for deposit was supposed to go back to my card but was used for the valet instead so no extra charges.

The hotel is a great location and hotel rooms are good. The service is meh and they will charge you for something that you did not get. I was charged up an upgrade fee to have a view down Peachtree St., which is criminal to even charge to look down that street but here is the problem. The heat didn't work in my room and at 11 pm had to change rooms to a room that look into two other buildings. Did they remove the upgrade charge? Nope. Still charged me $63 per night! Seriously?! Before this I had also called to adjust my reservation and I might as well have been talking to a wall. The person couldn't understand English and kept repeating back to me the complete opposite of what I was saying. When I asked for a manager, they became confrontational about it. My wife was sitting right there and heard the whole thing

The location is fantastic, and there’s definitely room for improvement. It could use some TLC and fresh faces. Getting in touch with the front desk was a real challenge, and the valet, while pricey, was not very helpful. I had to wait over 20 minutes for my car to be picked up at check-in, and even asking for it was another hassle. The staff could be a bit more friendly and helpful. They didn’t explain the benefits, even though I’m a Diamond member, and they didn’t offer any upgrades or recommendations. The hotel’s online ads mention a partnership with the Atlanta Aquarium, but when I asked about it, they just pointed me to the aquarium’s website or suggested I go there myself. The staff was the least helpful I’ve ever encountered. On the bright side, the restaurant food was quite good. I would never go back to this location if I am in Atlanta. This is actually my first time leaving a bad review for Hilton.

My wife and I's stay at the Candler Hotel was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. Absolutely impeccable in every way! We arrived to kind valet and entered to a gorgeous lobby that smelled divine (we asked what their scent was) and was visually stunning. The two staff at the front desk were professional, kind, and attentive. My wife told them it was my birthday, and the gentleman helping us quickly said, "Let me see if I can upgrade you" - no questions asked. They have a good selection of beverages and snacks at the front desk as well. The elevators reminded me of those at The Plaza. The best birthday surprise was being upgraded to a gorgeous suite with an amazing view. The room included special touches such as a Nespresso machine, beautiful bath products, and a large soaking tub (the tub of my dreams!) I took three baths during our one night stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and the blackout curtains gave us great sleep. There were two TVs - one in the sitting area and another in the bathroom. You are able to log into your Netflix account. Additionally, it has been a long, long time since I have had room service due to the pandemic. We got dessert and breakfast. The food and coffee was absolutely delicious! We were so impressed. I felt so special while at the Candler. It's a gem of a hotel - I highly, highly recommend. To the staff - thank you for making my birthday one to remember. I would love to share my thanks with you if you would like to contact me!
