My third party booking agency didn't finalize my booking, then we're unresponsive, so I eventually booked at the hotel counter. In the meantime, the staff treated me extremely well, food, drinks, friendly and genuine conversation, all graciously extended. The air quality is excellent, room was absolutely clean, spacious, quiet, and with all modern style amenities. Coffee and pancakes in the morning didn't disappoint and morning staff were no less friendly and helpful than the ones I'd met the night before. Truly a 5 star experience.

I had an amazing experience at The American Hotel, and I absolutely have to highlight three incredible people: Maleeha, Tenn, and Rickey. From the moment I arrived, their customer service was on another level, warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring.
Maleeha greeted me with such a positive attitude that it immediately set the tone. She was attentive, patient, and made it feel effortless.
Tenn went above and beyond throughout my visit, always checking to make sure everything was perfect and offering help before I could even ask.
And Rickey, the manager, truly made the experience stand out. His professionalism, calm presence, and commitment to excellent service really show in the way the whole team operates. You can tell he takes pride in the hotel and in making guests feel comfortable, valued, and taken care of.
The atmosphere at this hotel feels personal and not just transactional. Every interaction felt sincere, and the team genuinely made me feel at home. Because of them, The American Hotel is definitely a place I’ll return to and recommend to anyone looking for a stay where hospitality actually means something.
Highly recommend!

We attended an event at the American Hotel Atlanta and I have to commend the catering staff—they were exceptional in every way. The food, setup, and especially their service were outstanding. They proactively assisted on the buffet line and regularly helped clear the tables. Our event extended into the evening, yet the team returned the next morning for breakfast, ready to serve with the signature American Hotel smile. We also thoroughly enjoyed the hotel’s rich history and prominent photographs of its legacy.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. On the positive side, the location is absolutely fantastic. It was just a short walk to all the main downtown attractions, including the aquarium and the World of Coca-Cola, which was incredibly convenient.
The staff were also a highlight; everyone I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and helpful. The room itself was clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Having a mini-fridge in the room was also a nice perk.
However, all these good points were overshadowed by the worst hotel bathroom I have ever experienced. The water pressure in the shower was practically non-existent—I'm not exaggerating when I say you could probably get more pressure from a spray bottle. To make matters worse, the water never got hot. It was lukewarm at best, which made for a miserable shower. On top of that, the layout was bizarre, with the toilet paper holder placed in a completely nonsensical and hard-to-reach location.

Edited in response to feedback from the owner asking for more detail:
I called the day of check-in and was told that early check-in was available for a fee($50). I thought that it was worth the price since I had temperature controlled items that needed to be stored in an environment that has air conditioning (basically, some really good leftovers that I had no intention of going to waste). In any case, I show up and things have slowed to a crawl due to connectivity issues bedeviling the computers at the front desk...I understand and empathize. When some semblance of normalcy returns to the computers, I am told that the room type that I had booked for is not available and that the front desk could hold my luggage and move it into my room type after it (i.e., the room type) becomes available. I am in town for a conference and had an important talk that I wanted to attend. I rushed out and left my luggage near the front desk...after the talk, I run a few errands, attend a few events and return to the hotel at the end of the evening. My digital key hasn't been assigned despite the fact that I completed the online check-in...in any case, the room number I had been assigned is different from the one I had chosen...again, no big deal. However, once I entered the room, I realized that my bags were nowhere to be found...I had to go back all the way down to the lobby (where I was asked if I am checking out, how does it make any sense for someone working the front desk to ask someone to whom they assigned key cards just moments ago whether they'd be checking out...during the evening hours!)and ask why my bags aren't in room, I met with an indifference and a cavalier attitude...I am guided to the luggage room and shown my luggage...I asked why they even committed to moving my bags to my room (type) if they never had any intention to follow through...Ryan tells me that he made no such statement, whereas I clearly him and his colleagues tell me to my face that they would move my bags to the room as soon as it is assigned. I hope this essay helps to explain my irritation.
