We booked this hotel for my birthday as a quiet little getaway in the city, and now I understand exactly why it’s James’ favorite place. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by stunning bouquets of fresh flowers and that signature scent that instantly relaxes you. Jazmine checked us in with such warmth, and when she learned it was my birthday, she went out of her way to make sure every detail of our stay felt special. But the experience truly became unforgettable when we made our way to the club room. Salim was covering that evening, and he is an absolute standout. Impeccably dressed, professional, and genuinely attentive in a way you rarely see anymore. When he learned it was my birthday, he didn’t just offer polite congratulations, he made me feel celebrated. He had dessert and champagne delivered to our room without me asking for a thing. At 46, to feel that seen, that acknowledged, and that cared for, it meant more than I can express. I appreciated him so much I even asked him for a hug before we left. Because of Salim, this stay wasn’t just nice, it became the best birthday I’ve ever had. He elevates the entire IHG experience. People like him are the reason guests come back, and why this hotel stands out above the rest. Thank you, Salim, for making my birthday truly unforgettable.

The hotel itself, rooms, and location are nice. That's really where the pros end. The service here is unbefitting of the InterContinental label. Here are just a few small examples; you be the judge. - Denied late checkout, even though 3pm checkout is a guaranteed benefit through Chase Edit - Was told I couldn't get more shower gel, as each bottle costs $125 and I'd have to hand over an empty bottle before they offered me a new one. Really? - Waited 40 min for wine glasses to be brought up to my room. Ultimately went down to the bar and just got them myself. Called to cancel the request, and was told "OK" -- no apology for the delay. - Took 15 minutes of back and forth to resolve a room charge issue at checkout. I dined at their restaurant the night before and charged it to my room. I tipped 22% on dinner because there was no mandatory service charge (which only applies to parties of 6 or more, per their own menu). Turns out they tacked on a 20% service charge afterwards that wasn't even on my final signed receipt (forget wrong, isn't that illegal?). Instead of apologizing for their mistake and promptly fixing it, the manager had the audacity to ask me curtly if I wanted to "remove my tip," as if to insinuate I was trying to skimp on the tip. How about removing the illegal service charge that wasn't on my receipt first?

I wanted to like this hotel when I stayed last year, but when we checked in there was an issue with one of our rooms that was the fault of there person who booked it over the phone on their end. I specifically made the reservation over the phone because of a need for 2 rooms near each other and specific room type, called the day before to reconfirm and when we showed up it was not what we booked. Instead of addressing it in a professional manner, the night manager came out immediately with an attitude and treated us in a very condescending way. Once we finally got in our room, it was just ok. Missing the couch that it was supposed to have. Little tired looking.

I am staying at this hotel right now, and I am completely unimpressed. My husband loves the convenience and location of this hotel, but I am done. It gets worse every trip. We are a top tier level and never get treated like anything. “We get thank you for being platinum, would you like your 600 points or a beverage?” When we ask for our upgrade, seeing the hotel is sadly empty, we get “oh, we put you on a higher floor” 14 If you want to stay at Intercontinental Atlanta, just pay for what you want…you have to buy it. We have bought it several times, but realized how crazy!! Our Marriott platinum status gets us club lounge with same benefits without the extra 140.00 per night. Pretty much every point program offers more than IHG, at least if you want top level. Do your homework! I am changing!!

Our stay at the Intercontinental Buckhead Atlanta was a pleasant and comfortable experience. Check-in was smooth and friendly, with staff making us feel welcome right away. The room was beautifully appointed, offering a refined and modern atmosphere. While we did notice road noise with the curtains open, it was significantly reduced once they were closed, allowing for a restful environment. We especially appreciated the large TV with an easy-to-navigate menu, the elegant bathroom, and the super comfortable bed. The usual five-star touches—like amenity kits, vanity kits, a fully stocked mini bar, and a Keurig coffee machine with coffee and tea options—added to the upscale feel. There were a few minor areas in the room that could use a top-up, but overall, the space was clean, unscuffed, and well laid out. Check-out was just as easy, and the front desk staff were clear and helpful, especially when we inquired about parking. One downside was the $49 overnight self-parking fee, which, along with the amenities fee, is not included in the room rate. It would be much more transparent and guest-friendly if these charges were clearly shown upfront or included in the overall price, rather than added later on. Despite that, we can definitely recommend this hotel for its comfort, style, and overall quality of service.
