The best thing about this hotel was Marlo — the front desk clerk. Unfortunately, she spent most of her time trying to fix everything that went wrong. When I walked into my room, I noticed the coffee machine wide open with no coffee pods, cups or set-ups. (see picture) I had to go down to the lobby to get what I needed to make coffee. The next thing that did not work was the free Wi-Fi. Marlo had me bring my computer down to the lobby to troubleshoot. I still could not log on. That made it impossible for me to do my work. I accepted the situation and consigned myself to watching regular hotel TV. — No streaming, obviously. Sadly, the remote did not work. Marlo was on the case, collecting several remotes from empty rooms. This took quite a while, but I ended up with a functioning remote. Then, I went into the bathroom. Again, no cups for water. I sat down on the toilet and saw the condition of the bathroom door. (see picture) Who would rent a room with a jacked-up door like that! “Come on, guys! — It’s just a cheap hollow door — easy and inexpensive to replace.” The last thing is entirely on me, but... I forgot my very expensive down pillow — the equivalent of a child’s Binky — so very special. I called the hotel, and Wanda was so understanding and kind. She said she was on the case and would get back to me. She NEVER did. I’ve worked at several hotels during my life. Owning a hotel in this condition would embarrass me. Don’t stay here unless all this is acceptable to you. I also stayed at the Sheraton Galleria Suites for the same price. It was amazing! The owner replied" " This is not the standard we expect or accept, and we take full responsibility. Your comments are being reviewed with our leadership and maintenance teams, so these issues are addressed promptly. We truly regret the frustration and disappointment you experienced." What do you suppose that means? Do they intend to accept responsibility financially? No one has reached out to me. If they truly regret the frustration and disappointment — shouldn't they call me and discuss a refund or replacement pillow. Just saying... I will give it a week and let you guys know what taking responsibility means to IHG leadership.

stayed twice: Once for New Years' Eve with friends and then my friends stayed again a few days later due to a family emergency (I paid for second stay so this is my review second-hand). Both times we were so impressed. The hotel is pretty, extremely well located, and everything we saw was clean as a whistle and pretty up to date. This has not been my experience in travels nationwide since 2020 with many hotels having a hard time keeping up with maintenance. The shower was beautiful and spotless, the beds were comfy and the rooms had lots of natural light. We were surprised how reasonable the prices were. The only slight downside was that they're understaffed both at the front desk and the restaurant. I hope it was due to holidays, but if not they should add more staff. Those who were working did all they could to make everyone feel at home, but there was a snafu with the first booking that resulted in an hour's delay for check-in while they find the type of rooms we actually booked. And it took a while to get served at the restaurant, though the food we had was good (actually the best fried okra I've had since my grandmom was alive). The second stay was last-second and I called from work to make the reservation for my friend while she was dealing with the emergency. I was nervous her check-in would not be smooth without me being there, but the sales staff made everything work easily with no hitches. My friend said they were so sweet to her and her son, and really made them feel welcome and at ease. As for me, knowing that they had a safe, convenient place to stay while I was working (and finishing moving furniture into my guest room) was a huge load off my mind and heart. I'll definitely recommend this place to any people I know traveling to the area, and I can't wait to see their future renovations unveiled.

Platinum elite member. Arrived at the hotel for a prepaid check in around 9:45pm. Discovered the hotel didn’t watch the weather for the past week (warmer temps than normal). They had the cooling tower shutdown. Waited around for an hour for them to determine our room would not be cooled. Owner and hotel only offered 2000 points compensation. No comped room elsewhere or any other compensation.. $12 worth of points isn’t worth a wasted hour and no room. Instead I’m staying at a Hilton property tonight because they are much more professional than IHG. Don’t waste your time or money here no matter your status with IHG. Hilton treats its HHonor members much better.
