Well, in my over 30 years of travel I have mostly stayed at Hilton properties and have not ever had an experience as I did at this one this past Tuesday. I booked my room late Monday night, after booking for the meeting I was going to, they changed on me with little notice so, I needed to stay at another location so, I can save myself 3 hours of driving and could get to all my meetings. I called this hotel wanting to cancel so I could book another closer to my meeting. The woman on the other end explained, I would have to pay the fee for canceling. I asked what that was and she explained it was for the entire stay. I asked you can't help me here? She said no, our policy is the cancellation must be within 24 hours of the stay (it had not been 24 hrs since I booked it). I explained, I have had to do this with other locations and they were more than happy to help. Well, not here so I had no choice but to stay here and deal with the extra driving and time. l called Hilton Honors to see if they could help me here, they called the hotel with the same result. I asked for the name of the person so I could share my disappointment when I arrived, it was the General Manager. When I got to the hotel a women came out, I asked if she was the General Manger she said she was. I proceeded to tell her (I did not yell, cuss or anything) that this would be my last visit to this location because it was not user friendly for a business person. She slammed her hand down on the counter and yelled with her arm outstretched pointed to the door and told me to GET OUT. Being shocked, I said what, again she yelled LEAVE NOW, I asked why. She explained I was not welcome here and she could refuse service to anyone. I said you charged me for this room and I'm here to stay. She explained, either I leave or she was calling the Cops. I told her to call them. Well 10 minutes later 2 nice officers showed up asking what was going on. She told the officers I was harassing her. I explained everything to them and they told me if she asked me to leave the property, I must, it's the law in Georgia. I explained all I want is my money back for the room which was close to $200.00. They explained this would be civil and would have to take them to court. I took my license and left and the General Manager got here last dig in telling me that "Don't come back, I was not welcomed here again", I told her, no problem, I would Never be back. The officers explained that was 2 years band from this location, again Georgia law. There was no reason for what had happened what so ever. The only person being harassed here was me, the customer. I'm still in disbelief this happened how embarrassing ...
