One word: Unbelievable. First, I understand hotels in the Athens area raise their prices on game days. However, I don’t understand paying $300 for a room that smells like a mix of mold, mildew, and dust. The smell hits you once you pass the check in desk as the hallway carpets smell slightly off putting. When I opened my door I gasped at how badly it smelled. The front desk woman who helped was very kind and got us a new room, which again had the same smell and a dehumidifier? Also both ends of the hotel have tarps so I’m assuming some water damage took place? I understand things like that are out of the hotels control but we should not charge hundreds of dollars for motel quality (and let people know what happened/ what is going on so they can make decisions based on the now). Also, the fridge did not work as my water was the same temperature I received it at (room temp at 7pm) as it was when I pulled it out at 9am. Also there was a good amount of wear and tear in the rooms as well.

We stayed here a week. On arrival we were informed that the bathroom tubs were being refinished. We expressed our concern about the odor so they scheduled our tub to be done after our stay. On the third day I walked into the room only to find that our tub had been done. The oder was extremely irritating. I spoke with the manager (Kim). She was very apologetic and upgraded us to a different room. Mistakes can happen but I was very pleased at how the issue was resolved.
