Dear Hotel Management Team,
I am writing as a recent guest to share feedback regarding my family’s stay at your Holiday Inn location on Mansell Road in Alpharetta, Georgia. While there were a few positive aspects of our visit, our overall experience was disappointing and concerning.
To begin, check-in was pleasant and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, which we genuinely appreciated after a long day of travel. The location was also convenient, the pool area was nice, and the food and coffee options were decent when needed.
However, shortly after settling into our room, I noticed that the toilet continuously ran and appeared to have been turned off at the knob by a previous guest just to stop the noise. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and was informed that maintenance would stop by the following day to address the issue. We intentionally left the “Do Not Disturb” tag off the door so the room could be serviced and the maintenance issue handled while we were out for the day.
Unfortunately, when we returned well after 6:00 PM, the room had not been serviced, the toilet had not been repaired, and no maintenance had visited. This resulted in our room being moved, which was inconvenient after a long day, especially as I had to completely wipe down and re-sanitize the new room again for my family’s comfort.
The most concerning part of our stay occurred later that evening. While trying to rest, I began noticing small bugs in the room, including on the bed and in the bathroom. I even captured video due to how alarming it was. Although my research suggested they may not have been bed bugs, the presence of any bugs in the sleeping area is unacceptable and extremely distressing for a guest. At one point, a bug was actually in the bed with me.
Given how exhausted we were from the day, we attempted to endure the situation with the hope that the room would be properly serviced the next day. Unfortunately, on Day 2, the room was still not turned over, only fresh towels were provided. Throughout the stay, I felt itchy and uncomfortable, which made it very difficult to relax or enjoy the stay we paid for. Instead of feeling rested, I was counting down the time until we could return home.
While I acknowledge that your staff were friendly and certain amenities were decent, the unresolved maintenance issue, lack of room servicing, and presence of bugs created a very uncomfortable and unsatisfactory experience for my family. Cleanliness, basic maintenance, and guest comfort are fundamental expectations when staying at a hotel.
At this point, I am simply relieved to be checking out and returning home. This wasn’t the comfort we’d paid for. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so future guests do not encounter similar issues, particularly regarding maintenance follow-through, housekeeping consistency, and pest control.
