Very Disappointing Stay a real nightmare.
Our experience at the LEGOLAND Hotel was extremely disappointing and far below expectations, especially considering the price.
One of the biggest issues was re-entering the hotel by car. After stepping out and crossing the street, we were forced to wait nearly two hours in the vehicle entrance line. There is no system that prioritizes or guarantees direct access for hotel guests, which is unacceptable for an on-site hotel.
Parking was another major problem. Guest parking was completely full, with very limited availability. A hotel should never oversell parking when families are staying on property.
The cleanliness of the room was poor and did not meet basic standards. In addition, the hotel clearly shows its age — the facilities are old and deteriorated, which does not match the brand image or the price being charged.
Overall, the experience felt poorly managed and frustrating, not relaxing or family-friendly. Until there are serious improvements in guest access, parking availability, cleanliness, and maintenance, I would not recommend staying here.
The level of excitement and enjoyment is an understatement. This is the perfect spot for families. My age gapped children both enjoyed Legoland to the max.
Food: breakfast is decent, it served its purpose. There’s a lot of options- even for picky eaters. Pizza and pasta buffet, my kids loved it. For the adults it was chaos. I wouldn’t do it if it weren’t for the kids. Honestly, I’d go in the local town next time.
Park: amazing! Not over crowded, short wait times and plenty to see.
Rooms: I’d like to see the kids area in the back of the room instead of the front. Aside from that the rooms are great. There was a scavenger hunt and Legos to play with available. There are also snacks daily.
Eddie bartender at the pirates bar main resort was awesome and quick at his job
Destiny that does the art at the main resort was Great
The property needs maintenance badly. The window decals are faded and coming off the windows, walls and lights are dirty and need to be cleaned and some need some paint or just basic maintenance they charge alot but do not put anything back into the hotels or the parks

I would give 0 stars if I could. Specifically for the hotel and their check in process. I booked online, and was told that the reservation was for their cheaper hotel across the street. They modified it, I paid extra to book in the main hotel, and now am being told I cannot move the dates and that my money is gone. Manager was supposed to call back and never did. I called back this morning and was told there was nothing they could do and to "read the fine print". Horrible experience.

A deeply disappointing and unsafe stay- families, please read this before booking.
My son and I stayed for 9 days at the LEGOLAND Pirate Island Hotel. We made amazing memories in the park, but unfortunately the hotel experience itself was so poor that I cannot recommend it to other families.
I attempted to resolve issues directly and professionally using their official guest text system. What followed were contradictory explanations, long delays, staff avoidance, and a genuinely disturbing safety incident that was never properly addressed.
Here’s what happened:
⸻
1. A housekeeper attempted to enter our room despite a DO NOT DISTURB sign- and pushed against the engaged security latch.
This happened while my child was in the bathroom.
She pushed the latch twice, hard enough to jolt the door.
This was not a knock. Not a misunderstanding.
It was an inappropriate attempt to enter a room clearly marked DND.
I reported it immediately. I was told it would be “escalated,” and then…
No follow-up.
No accountability.
Nothing.
⸻
2. Staff gave completely conflicting explanations for the Pirate Island Pool closure.
Earlier in our stay, a front desk employee told us the Pirate Pool was closed due to “not enough guests.”
Only days later- after I raised a formal concern- management claimed it was closed due to a heater malfunction that supposedly occurred that evening.
Two explanations.
Neither communicated at the time.
Both impacted my son’s experience and how we planned our days.
⸻
3. Management repeatedly avoided addressing concerns in writing.
Despite multiple requests to keep communication written (for clarity and documentation), the pattern was:
• Long gaps between replies
• Responses that didn’t address my actual questions
• Pressure to “come speak in person” only after ignoring my texts for over an hour
• Contradictions between employees about basic policies
If guests are required to report issues via text, ignoring those texts is not acceptable.
⸻
4. Several amenities and basics were not functioning or available.
• Both TVs in our room were nonfunctional on arrival
• Noise disturbances from the room above went unresolved
• Amenities we paid for were unavailable without any notice
• And strangely, the hotel charges 35 cents for a bag at the gift shop despite resort-level pricing
It all reflects a pattern of cost-cutting and inconsistency.
⸻
5. After all of this, management declined any goodwill adjustment.
Not a partial refund.
Not a gesture of apology.
Not even acknowledgment of the overall impact on our stay.
For a 9-night trip- after a safety breach, misinformation, delayed communication, and inaccessible amenities- this response was extremely disappointing.
⸻
Final Thoughts
The LEGO theming is wonderful.
The memories with my son are priceless.
But the hotel itself?
A series of preventable failures handled with minimal care.
Families planning special trips deserve transparency, safety, and basic professionalism- none of which were reliably present during our stay.
I hope corporate steps in to correct these issues, but based on our experience, we will not return.
