I was pleasantly surprised with this Holiday Inn. As of 2026, it is 11 years old (i asked staff) and seems to be well maintained. If you are the lake side, it is really scenic looking over the water and the trees with sunsets is quite nice. The east side of the hotel faces a parking lot so nothing scenic there. The breakfast was okay, nothing amazing but it got the job done. The coffee was pretty good for hotel coffee and available at all times - in addition hot water for tea was also available. The lobby was basic but clean. The bathroom was well stocked. I thought i had booked a suite and there was "suite-ish" about the room in my opinion. There was a decent sized refrigerator in the room as well as a small refrigerator. The location is great in terms of access to food options. I was able to get in some.decent walks outside due to the location. The pool area was quite nice with hammock and a hot tub.

The hotel was pretty good, my girlfriend was impressed with the pancake machine even though the pancakes were kind of rubbery. I stopped here at the possibility of seeing rare Tampa snow. Did not have the weather channel on TV though and did not see any snow! Did see some around Live Oak FL! It’s not really much of a lake either, more like a retention pond. Hot tub was broken and elevator was slow but the room was clean and ample well-lit parking. Plenty of places to eat around.

There was a gold and silver buying event here. I waited for about twenty minutes only to find out they don't want to buy gold coins other than U.S. This should be included on the flyer which came in the mail. Wasn't that much of a big deal for me. Other people may come from greater distances. I just don't enjoy wasting time.
