Beware of the DESTINATION FEE. They charged me a extra $30 when I checked out. I called and asked what that was for and why they dont tell people about it. They said its all upfront on their site and had some lame excuse for the charge. They might as well just say we're going to rip you off for $30 just because we can. The VALET PARKING at $45 is a little steep as well. I accidentally left a power cord there and was told HOUSEKEEPING would call me back in a couple of hours....crickets. I asked if maybe the $30 fee could be used to send me my cord....nope....that would be on me. Nice room just beware of the extra "DESTINATION FEE" and valet.

I was served urn cleaner from the coffee shop. There is an incident on file and I left the cups of coffee with the front desk. Another woman was also served the coffee but I stopped her before she drank it. When I spoke to the food service manager an hour after the incident, he had no idea about the situation. He then shut the coffee shop down. I was told that the shop shouldn’t be using urn cleaner at all, that it was reserved for pots and pans. Before having to leave, I was told I would receive a phone call from a manager. I never received a call. Drinking the coffee caused my tongue and throat to go numb for at least an hour, caused hours of panic and anxiety and very upset stomach – all that was done about the situation was removing the $12 coffees off my bill. Further, there are no outlets to plug and work outside of your room, water pressure is bad, coffee shop is short staffed and opened at least an hour late twice during my stay, and only had a single staff person serving a line out the door. Elevators are very slow and one was out of service, they were shuffling people to the service elevator at peak times. The rooms are large and clean so that's a plus, but that's about it. Suppose it could be a nice place if you didn't need to leave your room for anything or shower.

Thanks to the universe that they didn't tear this down in the 90's. First time stay. Room was impressive on the 24th floor. Plenty of early 20th century charm. From my design perspective the lobby could use some better lighting. I can't believe that a designer put wagon wheel chandeliers in that beautiful lobby. Hopefully Hilton will see the mistake and eventually be able to budget changing them out to something more appropriate. Modern doesn't necessarily and shouldn't belong in an motif that is stocked with history.

It is a classic hotel built in 1920's. There are a lot of stairs that open up to the beautiful restored lobby. But there is an elevator and I noticed they have a special lift for bigger wheelchairs as the elevators are original and sized to 1920's dimensions. The Dan restaurant had a lovely interior and good food(the daily $15 credit can be used there and the Cass Coffee shop). Very close to highways but not a lot of entertainment within walking distance as it's the business side of downtown(court house). Our room was very clean, you control the temperature, the updated bathrooms are stunning. I would stay at this hotel again. Only con? No rooftop bar/pool like most newer hotels.

Hotel was a good price. Front desk agents should have asked if you wanted a walk in shower. Ended up with a tub. Not per picture on the website. They need more elevators or have all 3 working at the same time. Also dealt with all the cruise passengers departing on Sunday. Total cluster. Hotel should have advised people that was going on. Super upset with the way the hotel handled this not making sure other guests had a dedicated elevator. Took multiple attempts to go downstairs and get an elevator to beat the cruise folks and was SUPER ANNOYING. Waited 20-30 min for a elevator with a bell cart. Come on hilton… do better. Coordinate when this is going to happen with guests. Wont be back to this hotel. Was not able to use the 15$ hotel charge credit for drinks because of the madness of the cruise folks. Wasnt handles well. Hilton lost my business. Will stay at marriot properties from now on in Tampa. L
