I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. From the moment we walked in, the lobby smelled strongly like smoke. Not a great first impression. During check in, they couldn’t provide us with a working room key card, and the front desk staff couldn’t clearly explain how to use the mobile key either. We were left standing there confused and trying to troubleshoot it ourselves. For context, my group and I all work in the hospitality industry, specifically in hotels. We understand how operations work. We understand noise policies. We understand that complaints happen. That’s part of the business. What happened here, though, was completely mishandled. We went out to dinner and returned around 9:40 PM. Shortly after getting back to our room, we received a noise complaint. We were completely confused. We had no music playing, weren’t yelling, and were simply talking at a normal, respectful volume. Then our neighbor began aggressively and repeatedly banging on our door, screaming and swearing at us. He demanded that we come outside to confront him. We obviously refused because he was acting unstable and threatening. At that point we were sitting silently in our room, genuinely scared. We called the front desk for help. Someone did come up to check on the situation, but nothing was actually done to address the aggressive behavior. No resolution, no reassurance, no meaningful intervention. We were left feeling extremely unsafe for the rest of the night. To top it off, the toilets barely flushed, and the overall condition of the property did not feel up to Hampton Inn standards at all. What should have been a simple overnight stay turned into a stressful and unsettling experience. As people who work in hospitality ourselves, we know how situations like this should be handled. This was not it. We will absolutely never stay here again.

Terrible terrible terrible worst hotel I’ve ever been to in my ENTIRE life. I went to dinner and got back to my room and not even ten minutes being in my room we get a phone call saying we are too loud? After just talking. Then the guest next door that started the complaint was knocking on our door profusely and being very aggressive cussing at us. We called front desk to help and they stated they couldn’t do anything and basically laughed at us. I said I didn’t feel safe and was going to call the cops. Staying at a hotel you can’t control noise and we weren’t loud whatsoever just was talking. Stay in an air bnb if you don’t want to hear people. Disgusting and I work in the industry and will make sure the higher ups hear about this. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR GUESTS.

This isn’t a bad budget stay. It’s super close to the airport, close to restaurants, and the room was clean. Shower was warm with decent water pressure. I would spend a bit more and stay somewhere nicer if I were staying more than one night. Only complaints are the leaky toilet in my room and an iron that stained my shirt with small brown spots. The thermostat goes down to 68 but my room still felt warm.

Definitely one of the lesser Hampton Inns I have stayed at and I have stayed at a lot. There are definitely better Hilton properties by the Tampa airport. There are no pads or pens in the room. If you want to leave a tip for the housekeeper, you must write a note saying tip, otherwise the housekeeper is not allowed to take the money. That is standard across the industry. I had to go downstairs to get a pen and the staff had no idea why there were no pens or pads in the room. I showered at night and had plenty of hot water. In fact, too much hot water. I kept having to adjust the temperature of the shower. My wife went to shower eight hours later in the morning and there was hot water from the tub, spout, but no hot water from the Showerhead. Well, my wife called down, she was told that maintenance does not arrive until 8:30 AM. Also, the air conditioning is very loud. There is no outlet on the right side of the bed only the left. And this was a king room. Too many issues. I would not stay here again and I do not recommend. Now my wife has been waiting over an hour to take a shower. This is absolutely unacceptable. Update: we were just advised that the showerhead in this room is defective and this room should have been blocked off. My wife now has to go to a different room to take a shower. I will be demanding a refund. And now they’re having a problem with their keys. It just doesn’t stop here. Even the breakfast is lame compared to other Hampton Inns.

Comically bad. Where to start? How about the room not having a bathroom door that can be closed/locked.... just a sliding door with no latch. There's a one inch gap between the door and the frame. Hopefully you're not traveling with anyone, as there's no privacy whatsoever. Chose this hotel due to the proximity to the airport and a very early flight. Upon check in, I explained I would need a ride back to the hotel that afternoon from the rental car centre. The person working the front desk said "just go to the public bus stop outside and then call". That would be great for anyone who had any familiarity with the area. But seriously... who the heck knows their way around a rental car center? So, I'm aimlessly walking about trying to find a sign for the bus stop, all the while having to dodge people leaving the rental car center. Spent 10 minutes trying to find the place with no luck. Called the hotel back, absolutely no help whatsoever. Couldn't provide any information as to what I was looking for other than it was outside. Great. It's a big world out there. They were so incompetent that I arranged for Uber once I made it to a safe place. Total gong show. I've never been so happy to have a 6am flight so I can get out of this dump.
