    Elevator wasn’t working for more than 5 days, carried luggage to second floor. After a cold day kayaking, there was no hot water in shower. Also no clock in room. Slept late and missed breakfast on New Year’s Day. Ended at 9:30AM. We will not go there again.

    I had recently obtained my new driver's license in my home state. In my home state, a paper copy of the driver's license serves as a valid form of identification until the official card is received via mail. Despite this, I was given a hard time and asked to provide a copy of my license, a request not typically made of customers presenting a hard copy of their license. Given the issues and safety concerns encountered, I am requesting a full refund for my hotel stay along with the immediate release of my deposit. Additionally, I would appreciate a receipt confirming the deposit was received, as I had previously requested.

    Our check in process started a little bit weird as her first words was she messaged us about their “broken elevator”??? First of all, I used my new IHG membership ID on this reservation and not the decades long membership ID that my husband had . So, NO we did not received any advice that it was broken. I now updated that after this incident. The common areas are well kept , breakfast is maintained pretty well.. with clean tables and concession. The second floor hallways stink and our room also smells like a wet dog but we are thankful that our room was refreshed on our second day of stay which is pretty standard. We do not stay in the room during the day so we don’t mind this much. Hilton express is one of the Practically priced ones amongst the IHG group of hotel but we never expect getting this first time experience of seeing a COCKROACH at all. This is disgusting for something that was trying to rebrand and renovate but no pest control maintenance? The sign was left by the manager Ryan on rooms so maybe there are reasons why complaints are there. I hope this hotel POSITIVELY handle this issues and critique as a way to improve what is being missed to practice true Hospitality Management. A friendly smile and compassion amongst the staff wouldn’t hurt and could change a lot. We still have a month on the road so will see how many more IHG hotels we can check in and hopefully this is the first and last bad ones with roach on site .
