  I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at this Holiday Inn in St. Augustine. My husband stayed here for a business trip (12/3–12/4), and at around 5 a.m., he was woken up by a stranger entering his room. The man had just checked in and was mistakenly assigned my husband’s occupied room. When my husband reported the incident, the front desk staff denied responsibility and responded unprofessionally. Management later dismissed the situation, relying only on a lock report that showed no entry - despite the fact that my husband physically encountered the individual. We were told to contact IHG, which led to hours of back-and-forth with no resolution, no follow-up, and no accountability. Months later, we still have not received an apology, explanation, or any attempt to make this right. This was not only a major disruption before an important business meeting, but also a serious security concern that was handled poorly and dismissively. A hotel stay should feel safe and secure - this experience was the complete opposite. The lack of urgency, professionalism, and customer care is unacceptable. I have attempted to contact the manager, Jeff, multiple times regarding this issue, requesting him to pull the camera footage, and have not made any headway. Instead, he continued to iterate the story I just stated and said the case is considered to be “resolved.” In my opinion, the case is no where near resolved. If anything, a bigger issue has risen, indicating their lock security system is faulty. I have sent Jeff 3 respectful follow ups asking for another manager’s contact information, and I have unfortunately been blown off. I really didn’t want to get to the point of leaving this review; However, I am hoping I can get through to someone/anyone by doing so.

  At the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saint Augustine North by IHG, we were warmly welcomed by Rhonda. We are Spanish speakers and do not speak English, but this was no barrier for Rhonda—a charismatic and very kind young woman—who helped us with everything and made us feel comfortable. Thank you, Rhonda—a thousand thanks! Keep up the great work; people like you remind us that life is beautiful.

  Simple, clean, and accessible. Staff is friendly and accommodating, especially Terry during the late night shift who was extremely helpful with my needs. Thank you Terry!

  Really subpar. Very dirty, don’t know if you can see the fish and dirt or the little desk. All the plants are DEAD in front of the hotel. There’s no coffee maker in the room and believe it or not. The whole hotel smells really bad. They only have one glass for water. I will say the bad does feel comfortable, but that’s about it. This has the feel of a motel Six. The area does feel pretty safe though I’m booked for three nights but I think I’ll probably leave tomorrow. There’s a comfort Inn just across the parking lot and it looks a whole lot nicer for less money. Oh, and there are little black bugs everywhere— they look like ants but smaller.

  Check in is at three but our room (king suite) was not ready at 3:20 so we were switched to another room (king also). This second room had food chips on carpet so housekeeping was called and it was taken care of. The toilet was running so we asked for maintenance. If there was a fix it was not permanent because we ended up jiggling the handle a couple times a day for 5 days. The soap bottles are Dove and smell wonderful. They are refillable with shampoo,conditioner and body wash in shower/tub. Handwash and lotion are at the sink. Breakfast is enormous and we witnessed many choices. Indoor pool was cold( it's March)and clean. Fitness center has 4 machines and free weights. The hotel has many cameras and we felt secure. The hotel also has DirecTV satellite with cable channels including 2 or 3 HBO selections.
