Booked through Expedia. Arrived at the hotel around 9:00 PM. At first, everything seemed fine. However, upon entering room 215, there was a very strong smell of mold. This is unacceptable, especially for guests with allergies or asthma, and represents a potentially hazardous living environment. In addition, both beds had visible dirt/stains on them. When this was reported to the staff, we were told that it was “not dirt, just stains,” and the interaction felt dismissive, as if we were being overly picky rather than having legitimate hygiene concerns. We requested a refund due to the unsanitary conditions. Staff stated that management would review the request. The following day, we were informed that no refund would be issued. Any hotel or motel should comply with basic sanitary and health standards. Based on this experience, I believe the property should be inspected to ensure it meets acceptable hygiene and safety requirements. Would not recommend.

I realize everyone is different and they have their own “review”. I wanted to share mine. It was such a great experience. The staff were so sweet and friendly. The manager was very kind and you could tell the other employees did such a great job due to his leadership. Loved the rooms. Clean! being just a few miles from downtown, made it even better. We definitely will be staying there again. Lynn

Walking into Room 114 felt less like checking into a hotel and more like stepping into Grandma’s forgotten basement — that musty “closed-up-for-a-decade” aroma hit instantly. You’re by the ocean, folks. Summon Poseidon himself if you have to, but please, keep the air moving. The housekeeping tour began right at the door: a bottle cap lounging on the floor, practically touching the trash bin, as if it had tried to make the shot but gave up halfway. The bathroom shower grout looked like it had been cultivating its own ecosystem — black, crusty, and thriving like it had tenure. The bed linens? Oh, they came with a bonus feature: mysterious black flakes that reappeared every time I brushed them away. Was it dust? Mold dandruff? The ashes of past guests’ hopes and dreams? Hard to say, but it was persistent enough to deserve its own Yelp account. Then came the hairs. Short, black, four-inch strands sprinkled across counters, the bed, and the bathroom floor. It was like sharing the room with a shedding house pet I never met - and definitely didn’t consent to. But the grand finale — the showstopper — was the toenail. Yes, a TOE NAIL, proudly displayed on the table between the beds like some twisted centerpiece. At that point, I half expected housekeeping to pop in and ask if I’d found the rest of the collection. And the beds? Imagine sleeping on a stack of retired pizza boxes. These mattresses were possibly once pillow-tops, but now they’re just relics of a softer past. My shoulders and hips staged a protest all night, and rest was a fantasy. By sunrise, I wasn’t just checking out — I was escaping. Room 114 wasn’t a getaway — it was a cautionary tale with props, a horror‑comedy set piece masquerading as lodging.
