When we were walking into the hotel the drop off area was dark and roof is missing tiles. The lobby smelled like mildew and was dirty. The elevator floors are chipped and the buttons are very hard to push. Once you arrive at the floor the elevator doors have take quite sometime to open. The fourth floor smelled awful when the doors opened. The internet and electrical wires are zip tied and stapled to the walls. The room smelled like mildew, the tub call was about 4 inches thick with mold, the floors did not like they had been vacuumed in quite sometime, the double panes windows were fogged over, and the bathroom had not been cleaned. We checked out and went to the Hilton down the road. I would not recommend.

This is not a 3 star hotel and the fact that Holiday Inn still has their name on this place is unbelievable. Where to start, My family and I checked in on December 20th. We had originally booked a king room through Expedia. When getting to our room we found out that it was a queen room not a suit in very poor condition including the curtains having duct tape covering the holes. The bathroom was dirty and had rust all over. We went and worked out a new room. They did not have any king rooms, so we agreed to staying in a room with double queens that ended up not being queens but full beds. That night we discovered that the fridge didn’t work, the dresser drawers did not close, the sink faucet had hardly any pressure and the right handle did not turn on at all. The bathtub drain plug was broken as well. The next day we talked to the hotel about getting these issues fixed and they said they couldn’t fix the issues so they would put us in a new room again. This room was just as bad as the others, rust everywhere, mold in the bathroom, a broken bed that wasn’t flat, a hole in the wall and the bathroom fan falling out of the roof. I have pictures of all these issues from the room if needed. How this hotel is under the holiday inn name is unbelievable. We’ve have been staying at holiday inn’s for going on 10 years now and have never seen anything like this.

Don't take the photos online for face value
The pool - isn't that nice. Its NOT heated and has lights that stick up causing a dangerous situation
The rooms - horrible. Dirty
windows all of the seals are broken so they are difficult to look through
The beds are TERRIBLE. We stay at Holiday Inns all the time for my hisbands job. This was the WORST
Bathroom felt like a closet. Seriously not much bigger
Breakfast - NO free breakfast
Staff - some took notice. Other could have cared less. I wondered if they knew I even stayed there.
They are under renovations, but I'm not holding out much hope. Its just SO outdated and not much care in the place.

Pros: good location, comfortable beds, daily room cleaning service, excellent swimming pool, plenty of parking spaces, delicious made-to-order breakfast in the restaurant. Cons: the coffee machine in the room didn't work, the toilet was constantly breaking down, the hot tub was only lukewarm, there were no towels at the pool, and there was no ramp from the parking lot to the entrance.

This Holiday Inn of Port St. Lucie is tied for the WORST hotel we have stayed in during our 52 years of marriage and extensive traveling. It is tied with a hotel in Pensacola, FL that had bed bugs.
The reason we stayed here is this hotel is less than 5 minutes from the hospital where our daughter was having surgery. Frankly, we should have left immediately. Never again…
Below is a list of issues we had with this Holiday Inn.
A. Should have known when we pulled up and the parking lot signs are leaning over almost to the ground.
B. The lobby looked as if it was last decorated in 1975.
C. No luggage roller carts.
D. The lobby had an odor.
E. The lobby had a sign with a tray advertising hot chocolate. None ever appeared during our 2-night stay.
F. The elevator floors were chipped, stained, with left over stickers on the floor.
G. The elevator also had a foul odor.
H. The third floor smelled horribly of a disinfectant. Like a combination of Lysol & cat urine.
I. The room was also last decorated in 1975. Poorly.
J. There was blood on the bathroom light switch.
K. Lacking amenities; hairdryer, soap, microwave, clean floors, convenient outlets of any kind to charge our phones, quiet exhaust fan in the bathroom (sounded like a jet engine), the large tub drain did not work, the tub’s jets did not work, and the tub was high but had no handles to safely enter and exit it.
L. The bathroom sink was rusting.
M. The fire extinguishers in the ceiling were rusted over, questioning their ability to work.
N. The double pane windows were fogged over.
O. Their dumpster pick-up is at 4:30 AM. Yes, we heard it as if we were standing next to them as they were dumped.
