As a Hospitality and Tourism reviewer, I am stunned at how this hotel could even have any good reviews from some people.
Was it because family and friends review? Was it bribe? Was it because some are easily swayed by a hot breakfast?
First and foremost: Serious bed bug/fleas/insect bite issues.
1. After one night I noticed some bites on my right wrist. I didn't think much of it. The next day, several bites in my arms, behind my knees and back. Then, I started to have an allergic reaction to them. Photos included.
I had to cancel my trip and take a flight back to Canada to go to emergency (US health care is unaffordable).
I tried complaining to the manager, but he was rude, yelled at me, started taking down my phone number in a rough manner. I felt threatened.
2.The so-called outdoor pool is small. Considering the size of the hotel and number of families with small children, I doubt the water is safe
3. I had sent in a request for an accessible and feather free room because of my mobility difficulty. I explicitly asked for no tub. Just shower stall. Did not receive it.
The older gentleman who received me never once looked at my face or smiled at me. Total lack of customer service manners. Kept typing saying there is nothing on file, there are no accessible rooms.
4. When I got to the room, the first thing was a phone not working.
5. I was placed on the very top floor, at the very end of a long corridor (having a monility problem).
6. The room is old, dilapidated. The bathroom had hair in the tub, toilet seat is lose, bouncing, I almost fell on the ground.
7. Dirty floors in bathroom, walls needing repair, door to the bathroom looked like it was improvised from unfinished wood and painted grey without being sanded.
8. NO roll in shower. Just a dirty old tub that I was afraid to step in..
9. The shower curtain slides to the center because the curved curtain rod was not properly aligned — its leaning forward and downward.. So we can't pull the curtains to the sides to avoid getting the floors wet. The curtain just slides yo the centre.
No handles in the shower. I ended up falling.
10. Although I complained about the toiled bouncing, after 24 hours no one had come to fix it. I complained again. When they came, he was here for 20 minutes and couldn't fix it. He said he would send someone while I was out the next day.
This morning, before 8:00 a.m., while I was still asleep and the Do Not Disturb sign was at the door, a man came knocking (waking me up), and actually began entering the room.
He did not just wake me, he spooked me.
How is this even allowed?!
Upon arriving Canada, I was admitted in the hospital through emergency, with a full blown reaction to the bites the reached my throat, nearly closing it.
