As a Hilton Honors member, this made sense to grab some points while in transit in and out of Miami International. Hotel is dated - a lot of signs of long, rough use - but they are doing their best to renovate and modernize. Much of the lounge furniture was classic 80's Miami, perhaps taken from the solarium in the Golden Girls house ...
Our flight to Miami had been delayed over 7 hours, so the hotel restaurant was really the only viable option after a long, irritating day of travel. I was honestly pleasantly surprised: I opted for the chickpea stew, packed full of chickpeas and other great veg used in the Caribbean. A side of rice and black beans tied it all together...left very full, but not over stuffed. A nice, hearty but healthy meal to wind down a tiresome day.
The shuttle to/from the airport works well, leaving the hotel every half hour. Just be prepared to wait at the airport for a bit, and you'll need to flag the driver down - otherwise, they'll keep going. There's no designated "Hilton Pick-up" spot anywhere.

My stay here was genuinely enjoyable from check-in to check-out. I booked a suite with a balcony and that alone elevated the experience. Having that extra space made the room feel more like a private retreat than a standard hotel stay. The balcony was perfect for relaxing and getting fresh air without leaving the room.
Cleanliness stood out immediately. The floors, bathroom, bedding, and surfaces were all well maintained and fresh. The sheets and pillowcases smelled clean and felt crisp, not worn or overused. Towels were plentiful and soft, and housekeeping was attentive and consistent without being intrusive. Every time I returned, the room looked reset and refreshed.
One thing guests should know is that rooms do not come with a fridge. It was not a deal breaker for me, but it is worth mentioning if you plan to store drinks, leftovers, or medication.
A surprisingly great detail was the toiletries. I forgot my own shampoo and conditioner and had to use the hotel’s, expecting the usual basic formula. Instead, they provided high-quality products that did not dry out my hair or irritate my skin. That small detail made a big impression because it showed attention to guest comfort beyond the basics.
Noise level was another win. Despite being right by the airport, my room stayed peaceful and quiet. I did not hear hallway traffic, loud guests, or outside noise, which made sleeping easy and uninterrupted.
The outdoor area is one of the highlights. The pool is huge and feels more like a resort pool than a standard hotel one. There is also a large hot tub that was clean and relaxing. One of the most fun features is the life-sized chess board. It adds a playful and unique touch you do not see at most hotels and makes the space feel lively.
Location wise, it is fantastic, especially if you love airplanes like I do. Being so close to the airport means you can actually watch planes come in and take off, which I found really cool and entertaining. It gave the whole stay a unique atmosphere you would not get at most hotels.
It is true that the property is older, and you can spot a few areas that could use cosmetic updates. Nothing felt dirty or neglected, just slightly dated in places. In my opinion, that did not take away from the overall comfort or experience. You really do get what you pay for, and for the price, it delivered solid value.

First off, the staff here is absolutely wonderful. Many are bilingual, (hey its Miami) which makes things very easy for people who do not speak English as their first language. We did not have a single negative counter with any hotel employee during our stay. Quite the opposite. They were very helpful.
Onto the rooms. Many people have given the hotel a lower rating because they say the rooms are dated. At hotels that get this much use, you are going to have couches that get worn out, etc. etc., but I think people are mainly talking about the carpet. The carpet is very clean and does not smell at all, but it looks like it was probably installed in the late 90s early 2000s. The dark green in the downstairs made me feel like I was in an old movie, but it’s all super clean. I will include some pictures for reference. Like I said though, everything is super clean and nothing smells so… Does it really matter? The furniture in the rooms is nice- very clean not stained. I like the artwork and the overall ambience inside as well. The views from the rooms are amazing. The hotel sits on like a little island in a lagoon so you have great views of the water on almost all sides. The only negative about the hotel rooms… Where is the microwave and the mini fridge? Our room had a mini fridge in it, but we were told that we could not leave personal belongings in it and we would have to pay a fee to have one brought to our room???That’s pretty ridiculous. Even the cheapest of hotel rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator so that you can store leftovers and then reheat them. I would highly suggest they bring those things back. I think that’s probably also affecting their room score.
The amenities are top-notch. This is seriously one of the nicest hotel gyms you might have ever seen. I was actually able to get my full workout in. The only thing they don’t have is a bench press, and I completely understand why for insurance reasons. Maybe they could add a Smith machine in the future to help accommodate that, but the cardio machines are great and they have many of them. There’s a full barbell section, and they even have a leg press! Like I said, one of the best hotel gyms I have ever seen. I was actually able to complete my workout, which is so rare when I’m traveling. The pool outside is beautiful and they also have a kids pool and a hot tub. There is a little walkway that goes out into the lagoon where you can see some of the wildlife and look out over the water and it’s really lovely. The only drawback to the scenery is that the airport is right across the water, but you know what that’s the price you pay for convenience. The hotel shuttle runs like a clock until midnight or so. We had no issues catching ours. I will say go to level G, not level two like it says on the hotel website. There’s a long row of hotel shuttle pick ups, (like 22 of them) and you can stand at one of them and pick up the Hilton shuttle from there.
Walk ability can be a problem here. There is a grocery store .8 miles away, and I walked to and from that with no problem. Just make sure that you use the proper pedestrian crosswalks. Do not jaywalk here. That could have disastrous consequences. Most of the places that you’re gonna wanna eat at and stuff though, you’re gonna need a Lyft or an Uber. The taxis here are super expensive so I would highly recommend using ride share service.
If you haven’t stayed at this hotel, I’m not sure you’ve truly experienced all that Miami has to offer. This hidden gem made my stay unforgettable, thanks in large part to incredible people like Julio and my favorite bartender, Rosen.
Even when faced with the unexpected challenge of being stranded in Miami due to New York’s weather, the hotel turned what could have been a stressful situation into a seamless and memorable experience. The property itself is stunning, but it’s the exceptional staff—clearly guided by outstanding leadership—that truly sets this place apart. The level of service we received was among the best we’ve encountered in years, and that is not a compliment I give lightly.
I am genuinely looking forward to the honor of returning with my husband and reliving this wonderful experience.
Thank you,
Jaye

I had the pleasure of being helped by Jasmyn at the night desk, and I just have to say, she was absolutely wonderful. She is incredibly bubbly, kind, and genuinely helpful in a way that made a lasting impression. It’s not often you come across someone working the graveyard shift who brings such positive energy to their role, but Jasmyn truly does.
Despite the late hours, she was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making everything feel easy and taken care of. Her attitude alone made the experience better.
The hotel itself was amazing as well! The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, it was a great stay, and Jasmyn is truly an asset to the team and a perfect example of great hospitality.
