This hotel was booked for a group trip. We had a group rate at $190
per night.
This hotel is close to the airport that is the only saving grace.
The rooms are old and I'll say partially updated in the bathroom only.
The hallway lights blink on and off like your in a scary movie, the carpet is old and gross.
The rooms are old as well, I was so glad we were here for only one night.
We did try the restaurant on the 9th Floor, it was ok I had chicken strips, fries and a beer. The waitress Mery took our order and I never saw her again until I had to literally run her down to get the check. They add an automatic 18 percent gratuity the service was subpar

Be careful with the airport shuttle pickup info. The app indicates pickup is on the 1st floor, but the shuttle actually picked us up on the 2nd level (Door 5). Also, there are multiple Holiday Inns near Miami International Airport and they do not share one universal shuttle. Double-check the hotel name/address on the shuttle before you step on, otherwise it’s easy to end up at the wrong Holiday Inn (we did, then had to backtrack and wait again). If your Spanish isn’t strong, communicating with some drivers may be challenging, so confirming the address in advance really matters.
Another frustration: this hotel is not responsive by email. I sent two emails and never received a reply. Even a quick “we don’t offer that service” would have saved time and stress. This was especially relevant for transportation planning: they offer a shuttle to the Miami cruise terminal for $14 per person, but they do not offer a return shuttle from the cruise terminal back to the airport (we only learned that last minute).
On the positive side, check-in was very efficient. We arrived early (around 11:30) and were granted early check-in due to our status, and we were placed in a room right away. The bathroom felt updated (good shower and the usual amenities), and the bed was comfortable.
However, the room experience was let down by the linens: the top sheet on our bed had well over 25 holes. That’s not minor wear and tear, and it should never have been used.
Facilities-wise, there’s a lot going on here: a clean, spacious outdoor pool, a café that’s almost 24/7, a restaurant on the top floor, and even car rental agencies inside, so it’s convenient if you want everything in one place. The location worked well for us because we needed to be close to the airport, but this is not a walkable area, so plan on using a car or shuttles.
Small money-saving cruise tip: If you don’t want to pay the $14 shuttle to PortMiami, you can do it with public transit for about $2.25 per person. Take the hotel’s free shuttle to the airport, then used Metrorail (Orange Line) to Government Center Station, then Metromover (free) to Freedom Tower Station, and from there the free City of Miami Coral Way Trolley goes over the PortMiami Bridge.

Disappointing Holiday Inn.
All started after we emailed them to arrange for the shuttle and they never got back to us. When we arrived we followed the website instructions, going to the first floor for pickup. After a while and seeing none of their shuttles appear, we called, they said that pickup now is on the second floor. We got picked up by the first Holiday Inn shuttle that took us to the wrong hotel. Our hotel neglected to tell us that our shuttle was the white and green one and not the only one to other Holiday Inns.
Once finally in the hotel things were a bit better. But the plaice is rundown and not the cleanest.

Stayed for one night before a flight. Asked the front desk for a quiet room and ended up hearing planes and loud traffic all night. In addition, the cooling system shuts off in between cycles of cooling. When it started up I felt like a truck was just below our window…but we were on the 9th floor! It would have helped if the fan setting could stay running. There is also no streaming available. That’s just an FYI… The room itself was clean with newish furniture. Mattress was fine. Bathroom small but fine as well. Maybe there are no quiet rooms there. I wish I would have moved rooms but I hoped it would quiet down. Being so close to the airport is very nice but next time I would be willing to be further away and quieter. Didn’t eat there….really just needed a place to sleep…not to be!

The only thing good about this hotel is the location. Our experience started when we had to wait over an hour for the shuttle because he didnt stop at the door he was supposed to, when we called to make sure we were at the right door they said yes, that he just didn't stop at it and they would send him right back for us. So over 30 min later he finally arrived. No apologies for the inconvenience. The room spelled horrible. Onto the next morning, housekeeping was so loud, banging on walls, slamming doors, talking loud.. it was horrible. The hotel is dated, not taken care of and not IHG standard. The breakfast buffet was edible, but not great. We had originally booked this hotel for after our cruise also, but canceled and choose another property.
