We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Nestled in Miam’s Mid-Beach area this is quieter & more comfortable with kids. You can sense a lot of the Art Deco themes, however not as intense as in south beach. Availability of restaurants was limited, yet sufficient. Several of the grocery stores even included well stocked, local eats and at much more competitive price points.
This particular location used to be a Hampton Inn and it shows as the square footage of the rooms is smaller compared to other Tapestry locations IMHO. I loved the mid century modern design with its refreshing patel color theme. While our room was small I loved the hand painted mural & artwork inside. Frankly it worked & was very comfortable.
The ocean and beach are very close (maybe 200 feet) but not connected like many other hotels. The front desk offers use of fold out chairs, bikes, & even sunscreen which is helpful.
One last parting note, this is hard to find even if you walk right in front of it. Signage is only visible from a distance; our Lyft driver had a difficult time (as did we walking).
I’d recommend this hotel as its location is convenient & the overall design is memorable. Friendly but limited staff.
Really enjoyed our two-night stay at this hotel. It was a busy holiday weekend but all the staff - including Julian, Martina, and Leandro - were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. No noise from the rooftop construction (we were on 2nd floor). Location is ideal - 1 block to the beach. We didn’t use the pool or eat onsite - Primo’s cafe next door was great for empanadas. Would go back (and probably will!)

Overall, this is a nice stay and the hotel has a great nostalgic Miami Beach vibe. The location is fantastic, and having the Piola restaurant and CVS right in the lobby is a really convenient and enjoyable touch.
That said, my room was on the first floor directly next to the elevator, and there was constant noise throughout the night—especially on Friday and Saturday—with people talking in the hallway and heading to their rooms. Parking is also not very convenient. It’s valet-only and located on the other side of the hotel rather than at the front entrance, and the wait time can be fairly long. I also had a pretty poor view from my room.
Despite those drawbacks, the charm, location, and overall atmosphere make this a place I would stay at again.

We booked a room at the Hotel Continental because of its proximity to the beach and its affordability compared to most of the Hilton properties south of 40th Street in Miami Beach. We knew what we were in for in terms of amenities and room size, but were not at all disappointed. The room was clean and the king mattress was great and we slept better here than in any Hampton Inn, HGI, etc which have huge welts in their mattresses. Even the AC was smooth and calming. It never woke us.
Leo checked us in and was very personable during our stay. He had a great attitude about him. Katy was very sweet and conversational with my wife and me. She served us during happy hours and the next mornings at breakfast. We loved talking with her and appreciated her hustle.
We used the hotel-provided, free beach chairs and towels each day and parked them close to the water’s edge, in front of the encampments from the neighboring Cadillac and Andaz hotels. Our needs were simple this vacation, but the Hotel Continental managed to exceed our expectations.
The workers at this hotel stole my hair curling wand. As I was packing to go back home, I left it in the armoire in my room. I realized this as soon I as got home and unpacked my bag. I called the hotel to let them know. They stated they would email me if the item was found. I never got an email. About a week later, I realized that when I first called them, I forgot to tell them where I left the curling wand. So, I called again to let them know that additional piece of information. They told me that since I had last called it was not found and that they would check the armoire and call me to let me know if they had found it. I never got a call. The wand did not make it into my bag. So, it was left in the armoire in my room. For the hotel to say that it was not found tells me that whoever found it stole it. There is no other explanation other than it being thrown away, which I know is not the case because they have a lost and found. This is not a high value item, but it’s an item I use frequently and was hoping to have returned. Just like any other establishment, the hotel is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. With this in mind, just know that this hotel steals, period.
Otherwise, I had a good time on this trip. The hotel was average but it was very quiet. I felt safe except for a few encounters with some homeless people by CVS. I slept well each night. The breakfast quality was similar to that of an airplane. The decor is very unique and nostalgic. Cute to look at but needs updates.
The cleaning crew would prioritize my room last each day, which was very annoying. Every day, I would come to my room to get ready for dinner and the room had still not been turned down. So, it never got cleaned until the last day we were there.
The location is meh. There is nothing to do other than going to the beach. Most restaurants are based in hotels and are lacking in options. You have to go north or south for more variety.
