We spent 40 minutes listing to ai when we booked. It said beach, bar, entertainment and clean rooms. We got to Banana Bay and the front desk told us the restaurant was a couple years gone and ai had not cought up yet. Asked about the beach she didn't know about that either. Wife not happy. We got the the room and it smelled very moldy. We went out to the truck and came back to see a couple roaches in the bed and left. The web, ai and the front desk are all untruthful. when we went to leave we had to wait behind another unhappy person. I would not recommend this place..

This place is a joke! Save your money. I was charged an additional fee of 58.00 after I checked out. The advertised “buffet” consisted of cereal, muffins and sandwiches made in the microwave. I was locked out of my room at 10:46; check is 11:00. The property is rustic and not really a resort. The website photos are VERY misleading. Honestly, save the headache and go elsewhere.

Unauthorized charge after checkout! Proceed with caution... I stayed at Banana Bay from Feb 19–22. At check‑in, I was informed of a resort and parking fee totaling approximately $225, which I authorized as a temporary hold on my debit card. I had a trouble‑free stay, left the room in good condition, and checked out normally with a friendly goodbye from staff. However, hours after checkout, Banana Bay increased the charge on my card to over $1,000, without my authorization. Combined with the prepaid stay, this brought the total cost to approximately $2,150 for three nights in a standard room. I immediately contacted the hotel through multiple channels to resolve this, but received no response. The money was taken from my account the next day despite never authorizing this amount. This experience was extremely distressing and unacceptable. Until this issue is resolved, I cannot recommend staying here. Travelers should be very cautious, especially when using a debit card.

Told that the front desk is on site until 11:00 pm. Room phone calling the office doesn’t work/connect. I called three times at 10:00 PM because there is lukewarm water in the shower and no one answered. Although advertised having a refrigerator, the “refrigerator” sticker reads, “THIS IS A COOLER. DOES NOT GO BELOW 40 degrees STORE ONLY SNACKS & DRINKS” Our room, 326 was advertised as having a water view, there are tree branches blocking a direct view. Their print out map at check-in indicates Pointe Bar. It actually is a hut with mainly empty shelves and canned beer for sale. Parking is $19 to park in a gravel lot. If you want ice you must go to the front desk. It is not located in your building. Heater is inconsistent, hot then cold. Hair dryer doesn’t produce warm enough heat to dry your hair. Again, no answer at the front desk to resolve the situation. Breakfast is premade breakfast sandwiches, dry cereal and yogurt. Update, the manager, Emmanuel was very kind and receptive upon checkout hearing my concerns and discounted our stay.

I am a Travel Advisor for a Forbes-endorsed agency, and I have never dealt with a property as pathetic as Banana Bay Resort. I have been trying to reach the front desk for weeks to resolve a massive failure regarding my client’s stay, and I am being met with total silence. The conditions my client reported were unacceptable: the hotel smelled like feces, the breakfast was not fresh, and there was actually a wait just to use a microwave. Because of your incompetence and these sub-par conditions, I had to pay out of my own pocket to fix the mess you made for my client. The cowardice of this management team is staggering. Reservations is the only department that answers, and they do nothing but lie about "calling back." It’s clear the leadership at this property is too chicken to pick up the phone and take responsibility for their mistakes. On top of the service failures, you still haven't paid my commission for the referral. You are essentially stealing from the professionals who send you business. I will NEVER send another client to this resort again. You’ve burned this bridge completely. I truly hope management has the audacity to finally respond to this, but I expect you’ll continue hiding behind your reservations agents. Avoid this place at all costs—they don't respect guests, they provide a subpar environment, and they certainly don't respect the travel professionals who support them.
