Get more ice machines. Crazy you need to walk half a mile to get ice. Only one restaurant and one to go food grill with limited options. Bus service to theme parks is nice perk. Would probably go to a different resort next time.

We only stayed one night but the room we were given backed on to Bonnet Creek which is a very busy road with heavy traffic and by 11.00pm we could stand no more and requested a room change.
To be fair we were given a new room within 15 minutes but this was on the main road through the resort with a lot of passing traffic including lots of resort buses. Unfortunately once this quietened down the people in the next room decided to talk all night and the connecting door gives very little sound deadening so we didn't get much sleep. Rooms were clean but cannot really comment on the rest of the facilities but we will be staying elsewhere next time as other resort hotels are much nicer(and quieter!).

This isn't my home resort but we have it a try as needed a two bedroom. I'm very glad we did. The resort has a very chilled out vibe in beautiful scenery. The boat to Disney Springs was lovely. You do need to take a bus to all the parks but the transfer times are less than 15 minutes to all of them. Riviera being my home resort I did miss the convenience of the skyliner.
My only negative is that I'm a super light sleeper and highly sensitive to electrical hums. I could hear the ceiling fans on the rooms below me. Next time I visit, I'll request a ground floor room. Other than that it's a perfect place to holiday.

I’m blessed to have been one of the first people to stay at Old Key West when it first opened. I was 12 years old at the time, and even now, every time I go to Disney World, Old Key West is always my first choice.
Yes, some rooms could use a bit of renovation, but I’m always happy when I arrive and very sad when I have to leave.

We stayed at Old Key West on our DVC points and were so disappointed, especially in the quality of the room that we were in.
* The resort is in much need of repair / upgrading and definitely should not be classified as a luxury resort (3-stars at best, but if the state of all the rooms look like room 2210, then the rating should be dropped down to 2-stars).
* $500+ per night is not worth the money for a room that looks worse than a value resort room.
* The room that we were in, specifically, is very much in need of an upgrade (carpet is ancient and starting to run, tile floors peeling up, the bathroom door is rotting from the bottom up, the front door needs a new seal, caulking around the baseboards & sinks needs to be redone, the paint on the walls looks like an under coat, light switches are ancient and cheap looking, light fixtures above the bed are/were loose, curtains to the patio are no where near a privacy screening, the room smells musty like old cigarette smoke, tv is old, small and volume does not work well) - the rooms are much better at All Star Sports and for the same time period are running at $160+ per night. It's a sad comparison for a resort that has so much promise.
* The local store is lacking in ambiance and ... stuff.
* There is no good way to get back and forth to the main hospitality area (walking paths or a golf cart option would be nice).
* The on-site bar is lacking space and ambiance.
* If the general manager of Old Key West is comfortable with the way the resort is looking and with the state of the rooms like 2210, then all the senior staff should be fired, the resort closed down for 6 months and basic repairs and minor updates need to be completed prior to opening back up to guests.
* If this is what we as DVC members are being asked to accept across the resorts, it may be worth selling our shares and getting out of a bad situation.
