My fiancé and I usually have an incredible time at the Disney resorts. We have stayed in the more price conscious resorts a couple times and knew what we were getting into with the rooms. They aren’t the best, but nothing to complain about. However, the staff is usually incredible and very accommodating. Not this year. Every place we’ve gone in the resort (check in, food lines, etc…) has been understaffed and not friendly. I understand the stress that comes with being understaffed. I can’t imagine it is easy. However, when Disney puts out this image of being the most magical place on earth and the staff is usually incredible, having terrible service ruins the trip and tarnishes what should have been a fun weekend.

I rarely write reviews about Disney in general as they are very consistent. Me and my wife are season pass holders (from PA) and we are on Disney World property at least once every month. We almost always stay in a Disney resort as we love the experience and consistent service. We were in the Orlando area during the week between Christmas and New Years for a wedding and decided to tack on a few days at one of the Disney resorts. We always love the All-Star resorts for quick stays, so we booked a room at the Movies resort. We have stayed here in the past and had modest expectations. As usual the staff was amazing as was the look and feel of the resort. The food court had lots of options and satisfied our needs. What fell short was the room itself. The word I would use to summarize it, is tired. We were placed into a handicap room, which was fine and we accepted that the room may lack some amenities. What we did not expect is outlets that would not hold a plug, a mattress well beyond its lifespan and walls that desperately needs a coat of paint. The room fell short of Disney standards. We stayed at the All-Star Sports in early December and the difference in the rooms were significant. They had an almost identical design, but the Sport's room was well kept and felt maintained. Hopefully this is just a fluke and Disney will take this feedback and make some quick simple updates. This incident will definitely affect which All Star we stay at in the future.

We stayed at Disney’s All‑Star Movies Resort, and overall it was great for the price and value—especially for a Disney property. The resort was fun, clean, and perfect if you’re spending most of your time in the parks. For the cost, it delivered exactly what we expected and more. That said, a little constructive feedback: • Guests should be able to set the A/C to their own comfort level. We had to call maintenance to lower the temperature below 68°, which took extra time. • We also needed to call to have body wash and shampoo refilled. • One dresser drawer wouldn’t stay closed, and the TV remote back wouldn’t stay on, which was a bit inconvenient. None of these were deal-breakers, and the staff was responsive when we reached out. For the value, location, and Disney experience, this resort is still a solid choice. We’d absolutely consider staying here again, especially for budget-friendly trips.

Pros- The staff is friendly and helpful. The food court is easy and food is pretty good…mobile orders are easy. The buses were a great way for transportation.. The pool is huge and they do fun activities . The themes on the outside of the buildings are great. Our room was clean. Cons-our preferred room was very small and it was just me and my four-year-old. We ended up not using the Murphy bed because we needed the table that’s attached to it. The bed is high too so not good for littles. We didn’t have a microwave, although there is one in the food court and the mini refrigerator doesn’t cool enough to keep food safetly, It’s mostly for drinks. You can hear the room next to you a little too easily so we just kept the TV on and that helped . The rooms are far from the main lobby, but a nice cast member helped me with my bags and finding our room.

The front desk staff was horrible. They rushed us through check in and pretty much threw us luggage passes, so we set them aside being clueless about the magical extras. We heard other guest talking about putt putt and free water parks etc… come to find out we were on our second day and they did nothing to help us when we brought it to their attention. So now my little girl is upset because we can’t go to the water park without spending 100s of more dollars. The rooms are tiny. We had only sheets on the beds. A/C was set on 68 and it stayed 75 plus in the room the entire time(it’s December). No microwave so forced to eat their over priced and nasty food. The only thing that was decent is the pools and buses to each park. Definitely will never stay at an all star resort again and or recommend it to anyone. Honestly not sure if we will ever come to Disney again after this first experience. I can think of a lot better ways to spend almost 10 grand. Should have went to Busch gardens/water country USA.
