The staff was amazing. Loved the resort. However, we were never informed of the refillable cups until the night of our last day there. Very disappointing. The boat to the Magic kingdom was the main reason for booking the Wilderness Lodge. We didn’t find out until a week before our trip we could not use it. I also planned to watch displays from the water. I booked in November of 2025. Very disappointed. Because of the dock repair the walk way close to the water was also obstructed so as not to have access. So when the fireworks for the resort went off we could not see them since the trees were in the way. I should have stayed in one of the cabins so I could see them and paid half the cost of staying at a 5 star hotel. I had planned on purchasing a vacation club resort and maybe at the wilderness lodge. The stated reasons are why I will never purchase your vacation club. I was very upset with the exclusive things. Boat, fireworks which are resort amenities where not accessible for over a week. I paid 3 times what I ever spend at Disney and didn’t get what I paid specifically for. If I paid vacation dues to stay there and didn’t get them I would have been more livid. Glad I got to see how you treat vacation club people. There was a different boat dock that should have been used for the boat transport. Access to the side of the resort where the fireworks went off should have been your priority. Communicating the refillable cups should have been a priority. I bought lots of drinks the first 3. 1/2 days I was there. I’ll stay at universal or an air b and b from now on and save enough for my tickets. Very upset on the money I paid for an experience I did not receive,,

This was our first time to Disney World. I spent about 15 hours total in researching the trip, planning our activities, transportation and family t shirts. Unfortunately, I did not have a clear understanding of the meal plan which cost me an additional thousand dollars out of pocket for food. When we checked-out I was told for the first time that we had 2/3 unused meals on our plan. When we checked in the team did not go over the dinning plan and how to access it on the app. We were so excited about going to Disney I forgot to ask at the check in since going to Disney was a dream of mine since I was a kid. When using the app we could access the dining plan but you have to go under the hotel tab to see what the count is that you have for meals. We loved the lodge and the pool! Staff was friendly. We loved character dining with Snow white, breakfast with mickey, and Stitch. These experiences were amazing! The characters come to the table, you can get pictures with them, and they sign books. I would not recommend Be our Guest. We pay a lot of money for food that's overall ok but not worth the cost with the understanding that the characters will come to the table. The beast showed for a short time and walked out and waved and that was it. Very disappointing.

For a deluxe resort, we found this resort lacking in several ways. The room is nice, however the service is unacceptable in my opinion. I understand the lack of service except on the 4th day but with large families with kids, a lot of trash and dirty towels are accumulated. What am I supposed to do with these? There’s never any service attendants around. I’m supposed to call the front desk to come get my trash and dirty towels each day??? Doesn’t seem acceptable to me. I can take my own trash out and wash my own towels at home. It doesn’t really give a vacation vibe at all for a deluxe resort if I have to worry about either. They should just be taken care of. Why can’t they do daily quick service to collect towels and trash? Cast members, it’s not the same magic as it usually is here. Everyone seems to have an attitude or a negative comment to offer other than help. If you move your chair to the side of the table you want at Artist Point, you get scolded. No one seems happy. I understand they are around thousands of people normally but don’t take a customer facing job if all you have to offer is a bad attitude. Just really small nit pick things that all add up to a very annoying experience. The transportation has been AWFUL. The lack of boat has made this stay terrible. It forces everyone on a bus for the Magic Kingdom. At 9am, there was a huge crowd of people that filled an entire bus so we waited for the next. AN HOUR LATER, the same bus came back and the bus driver looked at us saying “another bus didn’t come?” As if we know your scheduling? I wanted to say no I’m standing here as apart of my vacation. And to add insult to injury, while we were all standing in the heat waiting an hour on a bus to go half a mile up the road, they deployed a road vacuum truck that no word of a lie, drove past us all standing at the bus station 8 times blowing dirt, filth and who knows what all over us! At the price point of a deluxe resort, this resort isn’t it. If the boat isn’t running, don’t bother coming here. You’ll regret it like we did.

This is a four-star Disney resort, so the baseline is what you’d expect—clean, well-maintained rooms, a nice pool, and a property that’s generally in great condition. That said, I won’t be returning to Wilderness Lodge. 1) Overly rigid rules that hurt the experience This resort felt more focused on enforcing rules than creating a positive guest experience. I was traveling with my two-year-old, and multiple interactions at the pool became frustrating: * I was whistled at for having one foot in the water while holding a beer, even though I was actively watching my child on the slide. * I was later reprimanded again for having a beer within arm’s reach while sitting in the hot tub. * I was not allowed to go down the main slide with my two-year-old due to a strict “one rider at a time” policy. * When we moved to the smaller kids’ slides, I was again stopped—this time for being “too big” to go with them. Each of these situations upset my child and felt unnecessarily inflexible. I understand safety rules, but the lack of discretion or family-friendly accommodation was disappointing. 2) Transportation issues (boat service removed) A major reason we booked Wilderness Lodge was for the boat access to the parks. About three weeks before our stay, we were informed the boat service would not be available. We relied on buses instead, but the service—especially to Magic Kingdom—was inadequate. We experienced wait times of 40+ minutes on multiple occasions. It did not appear that Disney increased bus capacity to compensate for the lack of boat transportation, which significantly impacted our experience. ⸻ Bottom line: Nice property, but between the rigid enforcement at the pool and the transportation issues, the experience didn’t meet expectations for a Disney resort at this price point.

If you’ve ever wanted to step into the American frontier without giving up Disney-level comfort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is where the magic meets the mountains (or at least Florida’s best impression of them). From the moment you enter the grand lobby, you’re greeted by soaring timber beams, a towering stone fireplace, and a sense of calm that feels worlds away from the nearby theme parks. Inspired by the great lodges of the Pacific Northwest, the design is both dramatic and deeply comforting like walking into a national park lodge where someone thoughtfully added air conditioning and impeccable housekeeping. The resort’s outdoorsy charm is where it truly shines. Winding paths lead you past bubbling streams, quiet corners, and out to Bay Lake, where the famous geyser faithfully erupts throughout the day because this is Disney, and even nature runs on a schedule. The grounds invite exploration, whether you’re strolling at sunrise or unwinding after a long day in the parks. Rooms are warm, rustic, and well-appointed, blending wood textures and subtle Disney touches without feeling themed to the point of distraction. It’s the kind of space that encourages you to slow down kick off your shoes, sit back, and maybe pretend you’re deep in Yellowstone instead of a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom. Dining is another highlight. Options like Whispering Canyon Café bring playful energy (and generous portions), while Geyser Point offers one of the most relaxed and scenic dining spots on property. Sitting lakeside with a meal and a breeze coming off the water, it’s easy to forget you’re in Central Florida—until a boat glides by on its way to the parks. Service throughout the resort reflects Disney’s best qualities: attentive, kind, and intuitive. Cast Members here seem to understand that guests come not just for excitement, but for rest. They strike that perfect balance between helpful and unobtrusive, making the experience feel effortless. At Wilderness Lodge, even the trees look like they’re on vacation—and honestly, after a day in the parks, you might find yourself jealous of them. What sets Wilderness Lodge apart is its ability to be both energizing and peaceful. It’s a place where families reconnect, couples unwind, and solo travelers find a quiet moment between adventures. There’s a sense of empathy built into the experience it understands you might need a break, and it gives you the perfect place to take one. In short, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge offers a rare combination: immersive design, natural beauty, and genuine comfort, all wrapped in Disney magic. It’s not just a resort it’s a retreat. And once you stay here, you may find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.
