Experienced the magic of Disney! We stayed in the main tower, water facing side. The room was cozy, clean and spacious. The water view allowed us to have beautiful views of the sunrise in the morning and the electric water parade at the night. The availability of the monorail in the property makes it extremely convenient! Though we chose the property since it is walkable to Magic Kingdom, we didn't end up walking but instead used the monorail every time. The food and shopping options are decent. We experienced the character dining at Chef Mickey's which was a memorable experience as well. The food was good, the character meeting was great! Only complaint, if I have to be super critical, would be that of the shower. Setting the hand shower caused water to leak from the overhead shower as well and the force was low. But that was a minor inconvenience. Overall we had a great time and will surely revisit!

My family recently stayed at the Contemporary for about a week and consisted of 2 adults and a free-entry toddler. I was very excited to stay at the resort as I had heard great things! We arrived before the 3 PM check in time. I checked in on the Disney app and was told we would be contacted when our room was ready. While I didn’t expect our room to be ready early, I did expect our room to be ready at 3 PM, the designated check in time. Once 3:00 rolled around, our room wasn’t ready and I was told it could be “anytime after 3”. With a cranky toddler that needed a nap, I had no idea if our room would be ready at 3:30, 5:00 or 7:30. Because we needed a room at our check in time, we had to downgrade from a water tower room to a first floor garden view room. While I know we could have waited around for our original room, my toddler desperately needed to take a nap. I was really frustrated that even though our check in time was designated, we couldn’t get in. I’ve never been to a hotel before, let alone a Disney resort, where my room wasn’t ready at check in time OR I wasn’t given a new accurate check in time window. As far as the hotel itself, I feel like the facility is just “as nice” as a moderate Disney hotel, like Coronado Springs, for example. It definitely didn’t feel like it was up to par with the price tag. Some of our USB outlets beside the bed didn’t work and a piece of the shower head kept falling off. Also, we were given a room without a bathtub, with a toddler. We made the shower work but it was really a pain. I really feel like the only selling-point of the Contemporary is the direct to Magic Kingdom access via the monorail. Especially having a little one with a stroller, this saved so much time. The rooms also don’t contain a microwave or a refrigerator that cools below 51°F. I know that Disney does this on purpose, so you have to buy more food and drink, but not being able to keep an unopened box of milk from a kids meal is a little ridiculous and extremely wasteful. Maybe I have a different view because I was a child/pre-teen during this time but, 20 years ago you would have had a completely different service experience at this hotel. It was a shame to frequently see cast members chilling on their phone in public view on their break or having an attitude if you asked a question. It really takes you out of the “Disney bubble”, which to be honest, is part of what you’re paying for. All in all, nothing totally ruined our vacation but I will look at other options before staying at the Contemporary again. Like I mentioned previously, the big selling factor is the monorail.

This was our first stay at the Contemporary Resort for a convention event. Initially our stay was great. Steakhouse 71 was fantastic and the steak I had was generous and well cooked. Complaint: my daughter had a medical emergency and was taken directly to the hospital. During that process, I had to come back to the hotel to check out early. The cast member I spoke with was not empathetic at all. I had prepaid my trip in advance not expecting this result in having to leave early. The cast member specifically said “due to the time of day, we cannot guarantee anything for your stay.” That was a horrible feeling as my daughter was being taken to a hospital without me. Not the magical service we have experienced on site elsewhere. While the hotel is expensive and the convention center was beautiful, please beware in the event you have an emergency.

We had a great time at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The remodeling and decor with the Incredibles theme is amazing. Truly impressed with what they have done with the hotel and would recommend it for anyone that wants to make the Magic Kingdom the center of their Disney trip. That said, see notes below on booking club floor access and a few issues with rooms and Chef Mickey's. The shower in the bathroom needs work as the mechanism used to activate the shower doesn't work well and results in only partial flow to the shower (due to poor quality faucet). As for in room entertainment (ie something for kids to do while others take a shower, eat, etc.), we would expect more from Disney. They want you to login to your Disney+ account to watch Disney movies. Why not show Disney classics on their TV network/hotel system without having to login or pay for the service. We turned the TV on once, then just let the kids use an iPad after realizing we were going to have to login to our accounts or stream to the TV directly (not convenient and seems a bit petty with Disney looking for another way to make money - especially on a floor that is supposed to have club lounge access). Otherwise the rooms were great. If the two issues above were addressed, we would have rated the room experience 5 stars Finally, the club lounge for the Contemporary Resort was a big disappointment. Prior experiences with the club lounge had staff that were seated at a table with desktop computer that you could sit down with and discuss your plans and book experiences/dinners/etc. Now they have a single podium and a few laptops that were slower than our phones making the experience tiring (you stand while they try to get their computer to work). This was more effort than it was worth (I remember pre-Covid experiences where the staff and facilities of the club lounge were a great help). Food service and seating area for the club lounge was also not much better than a Holiday Inn Express. I would expect more from Disney given the rates they are charging guests and the experience should make guests feel like they cant wait to come back (if the point is that they don't want you in the club lounge and prefer guests spend time and money in the park/shops, then they shouldn't offer the club lounge). It seems like the planners/designer of the new club lounge never spoke to anyone that actually works in the lounge to know what they need to service clients. Finally, a note on Chef Mickey's on the ground floor. We got seated in the area with the low ceiling (not the open area). It was freezing and very uncomfortable for the entire family - not a pleasant breakfast experience. We complained about it but didn't get it resolved. The character experience was wonderful - kids got to meet all the main Disney characters, however, if you book breakfast a Chef Mickey's, make sure they don't seat you in the low ceiling area at the back and ask for seating in the open area (with a view of the monorail and interior of the resort).

Disappointing Stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – Overpriced and Lacking Magic We stayed at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for the first half of our family trip to Walt Disney World with young kids (including a baby). We had a split stay planned and arranged for luggage transfer midway through. For the price of a Deluxe resort, this place fell flat on service and delivered very little “Disney magic.” I feel sorry for any family who has to save for years to afford a stay here only to experience this level of service. Check-In Frustration We arrived early and figured it was worth asking about early check-in, even if we didn’t expect much. We were already pre-checked in via the app, so we stopped at the front desk before taking our bags to Bell Services. The whole process was confusing — staff were huddled around a desk talking, with a couple of “greeters” near the doors who weren’t greeting anyone. We stood there for several minutes until one finally came over. They went through the entire check-in process, confirming all our info… only to tell us the room wasn’t ready. If there was no room, why even bother checking us in? We literally wasted our time on a pointless process we had already completed online. Not a great first impression. Dining and Daily Issues That evening we ordered quick-service dinner from Contempo Café for the kids. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed, with only a few lanes open, and one meal was missing when I picked it up. The kids had to share. The next morning Chef Mickey’s was decent and the kids enjoyed the characters, but that was one of the few bright spots. The pool is large and the kids liked the water slide, but the elevators were constantly jammed — every trip turned into stroller Tetris. The coffee stand was fine for a quick cup. The quick-service food overall felt like value-resort quality, not what you’d expect at these prices. Major Fail: Crib Delivery One of the biggest disappointments was trying to get a crib. I had to call three times before it finally showed up — after the baby was already put to bed for the night. It came “from storage,” and getting it took way too long. This is a Disney resort. A crib should not be such a hassle for a family with an infant. The Only Things Making It Almost Viable The walk to Magic Kingdom is convenient, and having Chef Mickey’s right there is nice for families. Those two things are basically the only reasons this resort feels even remotely worth considering. Without them, it would feel like a moderate (or even value) resort at best — certainly not Deluxe quality. Luggage Transfer Headache When it was time to switch resorts, we used Disney’s luggage transfer. We were told our bags would arrive between 1–5 p.m. At 5 p.m. they still hadn’t shown up. When I called, the cast member was short with me, gave a quick excuse, and essentially hung up. About 20 minutes later my wife got a call saying the luggage was finally on its way. The whole interaction felt rude and poorly handled. Final Verdict If you’re considering the Contemporary Resort, think twice. It’s significantly overpriced for the level of service and experience you get. Service was meh at best, there was almost no Disney magic, and several basic things went wrong. The location to Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickey’s make it almost viable for some families, but for most people there are far better options across Disney World. One small positive shout-out to the young cast member working the arcade on a rainy evening — he gave the kids free gameplay, which was a genuinely nice gesture (even after we’d already put $50 in credits). Overall, we wouldn’t stay here again unless the Magic Kingdom walking distance was the absolute top priority and nothing else mattered
