Booked on Priceline and didn’t realize it was a timeshare. Check in was extremely lengthy and arduous. 3 people at registration. 30 minute line. Then they had a guy at a separate counter to “issue a parking permit” and another guy to walk us 10 feet from the registration desk to the parking permit desk. The first guy asked us a few questions about our trip (to qualify us) for 1 minute and the second guy kept asking us a bunch of questions and telling us about a “free breakfast on the last day”. It was late, our infant was screaming, we had just spent hours on the road and a half hour in line for registration and now we’re getting a sales pitch from a guy who can’t take a clue that we are not interested. They could have put these two sales guys on the registration desk and cut down the wait time by 40%.

The resort concept itself is amazing, and we were excited to be here for our son’s birthday celebration. Most of the staff have been fine, but our experience was completely soured by the security guard, Raphael.
As we were heading to the lobby to inform them about the birthday, he stopped us at the entrance and interrogated us about why we were there. When we explained our reason (which shouldn't have been his concern to begin with), he responded with an incredibly arrogant 'So what, what do you want us to do?'.
This is absolutely not the level of hospitality we expected from Westgate, especially when trying to start a special celebration day. A security guard should provide safety, not unnecessary hostility to paying guests.

I stayed here from 2/19/26–2/22/26 for my son’s football tournament. Because we were so focused on his games, I didn’t reach out to the hotel during our stay. However, since returning home, I am now covered in itchy blisters, and the only conclusion is that the bed in our room had fleas or bed bugs.
We were in Room 5854A. My husband has since contacted the hotel, and they mentioned security would be reaching out to us, but I want to make sure this is taken seriously and addressed immediately.
Please don’t make the same mistake I did—check your bed and contact the hotel right away if you notice anything unusual.
Families stay here with their children, including little ones. This is completely unacceptable, and something needs to be done to ensure no other guests go through this experience.

We recently stayed at Westgate for a large family vacation, and overall we had an amazing experience. When we arrived, we had a few initial challenges combining multiple reservations for our big family party. It could have been stressful, but the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating our rooms so that we could all be close to one another.
We also experienced a couple of issues upon arrival with plumbing and electrical outlets. Thankfully, Daniel Baires stepped in and resolved everything quickly and professionally. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable.
We were especially grateful for the upgrade we received. Traveling with young children and a handicap-accessible family member can be challenging, but Daniel was able to accommodate us with a first-floor unit, which made a huge difference for our family.
Because of his attentiveness and care, our trip turned into a wonderful, memorable experience. Thank you so much, Daniel, for making our family vacation so special. We truly appreciate it!

I stayed at Westgate for 10 days and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish.
We were traveling with our 8 month old son and requested a Pack n Play. What we received was completely unsafe. The “bed” was only half the bedframe, so when our baby rolled over he fell onto exposed metal frame. He woke up screaming. That is not an inconvenience. That is a safety issue and resulted in sleepless nights on my vacation.
Then came the timeshare scam. We were told the presentation would be 90 minutes. It lasted 3 hours. Three. They lied to get us in the room and held us there while our entire day was wasted. They tried pitching us 2 weeks and then fine print was actually only 1 week. It completely ruined a full day of our vacation.
Housekeeping? Apparently that only exists if you stay 14 days or longer here. We were there for 10. No one told us this upfront. Four days in, our place smelled like garbage and was getting filthy and finally complained and told us they don’t do housekeeping for us. So I was taking out trash myself and doing our towels in the laundry room. That is not a vacation. That is chores in a hotel I paid good money for.
Because we weren’t given proper cleaning supplies and had no housekeeping, the room got so dirty that we ended up with ants by the end of the trip. Ants. It was disgusting.
The dishwasher was broken the entire time, so we hand washed dishes every single day. A working kitchen was one of the big selling points of staying there. Turns out that was just marketing.
On day one we noticed one of the shower nozzles wouldn’t turn to hot. No hot water in that bathroom. We called. No one ever came to fix it. So we just couldn’t use that shower for the entire stay.
And to top it off, everything costs extra. Waterpark? Extra. Mini golf? Extra. Nearly every resort amenity is an added fee, even as a hotel guest.
This was one of the most frustrating, disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Between the unsafe baby bed, broken appliances, no housekeeping, ants, ignored maintenance requests, and a flat out dishonest sales pitch, this stay felt like a cash grab, not a resort.
Never again.
