- MKMarcus KingNov 18, 20251.0Hi. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Jacksonville Florida on several occasions with the most recent being this past weekend from the 14th through the 17th. Scheduling my reservation was the worst it’s ever been. The front desk clerk that scheduled had the nastiest attitude ever. She didn’t want to answer any questions or seemingly do any work. She was a short Caucasian woman that loves to go outside and smoke. My wife and I always stay in the connecting rooms when we’re there if available because we have a disabled son. The website has connecting rooms as an option as well but she and the two ladies that came in after her on Friday the 14th were adamant that there’s no such thing. Because we had stayed there several times we knew that not to be the case. The day shift clerk wouldn’t check me in because it wasn’t 3:00 but two Caucasian males came in while I waited in the car and they both were checked in. They both had luggage with them. I had to wait 2 hours before I could check in and they walked right in with their luggage and checked in. I know because I saw them. I was eventually given the connected rooms after some time. My reservation was made about two weeks in advance to assure we could be accommodated. The 3-11 African American looked me in my face and told me no one could have told me about connecting rooms because we don’t have any. When I aggressively disagreed she calmed down. She wasn’t even helping me it was another 3-11 woman. She checked the reservation and saw I was booked for connecting rooms and said nothing else. We live in Goldsboro NC and really felt like it was more to this situation. I was extremely disappointed and I am an IHG member. But because your hotel clerk’s didn’t want our services we will explore different opportunities in the future. The 3-11 clerk on Saturday the 15th and the 11-7 clerk Nancy were very polite. You need more like them and not the other three. The dates of my stay was 11/14/25 through 11/17/25. I am terribly disappointed in the way I was treated and the terrible customer service. I will be evaluating this further as well. Be careful who you report your problems to. They’ll just defend them while making excuses for the issues.
