Great hotel. Clean rooms attentive staff. Very close to San Marcos and a few breweries. I am here for work and am not looking for anything bougie.

Honestly I don’t stay at Hilton very often. I stopped here because we were going on a road trip and desperately needed a place to stay last minute.
Service was fine but to be honest we didn’t need it really.
The rooms were fine except the bathroom. When you turned the water on it was fine as long as you don’t use the hot water if you turned on the hot water is sounds like someone shooting. There was hair in the shower and the caulking was coming off the wall in the shower.
Their sheets felt stiff. It was like someone used a whole can of starch on the sheets lol.

I've stayed in Garden Inns for years and never had a problem --until now. On our way out of the hotel the second morning of our stay we stopped by the front desk and asked for the room to be serviced. We were in town for a family medical emergency so we were unprepared and needed to shower, eat, etc We needed new towels, coffee, trash taken out and after a very emotional day it was a shock to walk in and see that nothing had been done. When I talked to the front desk they said that our request "wasn't in the system" although it had been written down by hand in front of us. Even though we didn't tell them why we were there they should always assume that requests for room service are important to their guests. Add to that a broken ice machine on our floor. To say that this hotel and our experience was a disappointment is an understatement considering the standard that Hilton and the Garden Inns have always set. I will continue to stay at HGIs until this kind of service is the rule and not the exception. Hopefully Hilton is not going down that path.

5/5. What more can I say.
Every single worker I interacted with was friendly, fast and reliable. Room was clean and soaps in bathroom and me smelling like a million dollars. Conti breakfast was delicious and the waffles were 10/10.
Black dude who checked me in and out with forearm tattoo did an amazing job. Please give him a raise.
