This is the 2nd year in a row we booked for New Year’s Eve and what you are getting at this location is a front row view of the fireworks and that’s about it. The hotel (this is a Hilton 🤔) has very dated rooms, amenities and even the TVs are 10 plus years old. I live in Jacksonville and see everything being updated except places like this which is in a 5 star location but has a 2 star look. The staff are great as well but we also had online dinner reservations in the St John’s Provision restaurant that apparently wasn’t even open for dinner. So we had to eat in the bar which was limited. Thank you to the bar staff for doing their best to accommodate us and many others that also had reservations 🙏🏻 I’d love to see this hotel, ( where Elvis Presley once stayed) spend just a little money to update the rooms etc. Otherwise when the hotels across the River open… this hotel will simply fade away. I hope this helps 🙏🏻 Also what happened to the awesome music and entertainment that you had by the pool last year? What a waste of a good space 🤔

Nightmare Hotel Due to Poor Management My trip was ruined due to we had to move to three different rooms within 24hrs after arriving. First room assigned bed was slept in and appeared to be occupied. Instead of the manager offering to have housekeeping reclean the room, I was offered another room even worse. The carpet was so bad and disgusting which later I found was a work room by previous construction men who had dropped tar all over the floor and this room should never have been assigned to anyone. I was told there weren't any other rooms and was not given any option to wait on another room even though the hotel was empty and we were there two hours before check in. Due to lack of resolve from the manager who didn't tell me she was the manager at the time of my complaint, I wasn't given a choice. I did not sleep comfortable because of the condition of the room. Another attempt from another associate was made to resolve my situation for my last day there for the next day only to be given a room with no hot water and we were the only one on that side of the hotel. I later found out by the associate from maintenance that this side usually have hot water issues and they were working on that so why were we assigned this room when management knew this and why were we the only one on this side of the hotel. There were other guests on this floor but on the other side where there were no issues with hot water. This caused me an emotional meltdown and I did not get rest peace relaxation or enjoyment. I got the opposite due to lack of professionalism and obviously an attempt to make sure my trip was anything but enjoyable because I made a comment regarding housekeeping. The manager never apologize, rectify my situation, resolve my situation. Instead, she made sure I was given rooms that were not clean and no hot water. Please do not stay at this hotel.

The service here is excellent and the staff has always been very helpful and inviting. However, this hotel charges a premium for rooms that are in drastic need of a refresh and are lacking in common amenities. Most rooms do not have a mini fridge or microwave. All of the furniture and fixtures are old and in many cases pretty beat up. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the down pillows brick up and make for an uncomfortable morning with a crick in the neck. Our bathroom was leaking and not very well clean, to the point where stepping in the shower w/o shoes seemed potentially risky. We were hanging out with 2 other couples and their rooms were pretty much the same as ours, across 3 different floors. Overall, we won't be back to this hotel. Better to spend the same money at one of the other hotels within a block of here that are much nicer.

We had a very poor experience by staying in this double tree hotel by Hilton. The room was dirty and smelled like a wet mop. The interior was outdated, some of the walls had so much humidity that was compromising structural integrity and air quality . The furniture was stained and shabby. The carpet was dirty and full of stains; the coffee maker had mold inside the water container; the bed was poorly made and untidy; the air conditioner was not working; the green color armchair have red spots on it. NO refrigerator and NO microwave. I was shocked that Hilton allows this hotel to use the Doubletree brand. Both brands are damaged in my opinion. What a dysfunctional place, to be call a HOTEL. It is NOT enough to reply that the management is SORRY, I believe it is TIME to act on having a better SERVICE to the customer.

I have never been more let down with a hotel experience like I have at the DoubleTree. Staff and customer experience was average at best. Room experience was an absolute disaster. Multiple issues at the start and through our stay. There were other guests smoking Marijuana in their room and we could smell it. Other rooms' beds were so loud it kept us awake (yeah, that type of noise) Doors have holes in them and massive amounts of paint on them. Carpets have stains in them, wall coverings are cracked and falling from the wall. Trim work is nonexistent or broken/cracked. Windows have not been cleaned, most have paint overspray with caulking and sealant everywhere in the corners. Light fixtures were broken and drooping from the hallway ceilings. Walk in showers had uneven floors, cracked tiles, tiles caulked back into place, worn out shower door rollers. Room furniture had visible signs of water/flood damage and discoloration. Pool was filled dirt and wasn't cleaned. Comcast cable TV service, but TVs are 15 years old and can't even display channels without signal loss. Their 'offer' was 20,000 Hilton points (~$100 value) or a free appetizer and drinks in the restaurant when I asked to comp a meal instead (~$40) Offer was so insulting I can't even gather my thoughts to even respond. We spent well over $1100 for the hotel. Hilton Corporate- Maybe you could do better, because I have stayed at mid-tier hotels nicer than this! You couldn't pay me to come back to Hilton.
