They are withholding my deposit solely because of a "detectable odor" on my person from legal, outdoor use. They are essentially charging a "smoker fee," not a "smoking fee." I am a Cybersecurity professional and I know an unsubstantiated claim when I see one. I’ve escalated this to Navy Federal and the Florida Dept. of Consumer Services. Avoid this place if you don't want your deposit stolen based on a "hunch." UNFAIR DEPOSIT WITHHELD & ZERO COMMUNICATION: I’m extremely disappointed with my stay at the Windsor. They withheld my security deposit based on a false claim that I was smoking marijuana in the room. I am a marijuana smoker, but I am responsible—I NEVER smoke inside a house or a hotel. I always go outside. This 'note' they have is a complete lie. To make matters worse, their listed phone numbers are always busy. I couldn't even get someone on the line to discuss this; I had to physically drive back to the hotel just to inquire about my own money. If you’re a responsible guest, be careful—they will keep your money for things you didn’t do and then make it impossible to contact them. Still waiting on my refund.
